Hawkguy is back in the sewing room today, getting a few upgrades/mods and clean up. Since the quiver is so heavy, we decided we *did* need the strapping on the interior, looping or hooking into the belt of his pants. Thankfully, the front panels are slip stitched around the pockets, so I could pull the stitching; machine sew the webbing for a secure connection; and now I have to redo the slip stitching.
It's not the cleanest stitching I've done, but it was incredibly awkward to feed this beast under the presser foot. At least the ugly is on the interior!
Last year, we added riveted leather pockets to connect the quiver. The cordura loops were okay, but sagged over time and stressed the stitching. Still learning riveting, but they're in place and have proven their strength one year already. Today, I just cleaned up the marking lines left behind by the quick fix last year.
And now to work on a second version of the undershirt, one that hopefully fits better.
costume try on straight outta the bag, wrinkles included. i'll be posting the progress of this cosplay leading up to a dragoncon debut. follow me to keep up 🖤💋
There’s a light at the end of this costuming tunnel -- I can see it, and I’m almost there. But I’m also at the point where I just wanna flop, write fic, and play the agent story again.
::sigh::

I have three writing prompts sitting in the inbox, taunting me. Made some notes last night for one (featuring Adela & Saganu), and spent a larger percentage of the early afternoon on a second with DM!verse Mairen and Reanden of all muses. That one has careened out of control, and I'm still trying to fix it. So I gave up and finally went back to work in the sewing room around 3 (local).
First thing, I put the bias finish on backwards... Oops. Clearly still distracted by Mai and Spydad. Pulled it out fairly easily, and was successful in attempt number 2, finishing the armscye. Added the facings for the side closures, and finished the neckline. Tomorrow, the back right arm, front snap, and adding the velcro to the side close.
... While trying to do laundry, dishes, and get rid of a beetle infestation. Ugh. ::headdesk::
Today was productive: A quick course at Tandy Leather, learning now to set eyelets, rivets, and grommets. Then I finally finished prepping Kanan's greeblies and shinguards; as well as Hera's badge and glove bits, applying the first coat of filler primer. The goggles/headset are still being assembled and will join them in their monochrome state tomorrow.
I also need to get going on Hera's shirt. That requires remembering to pull the fabric out of the dryer before it wrinkles. Oops. Maybe tomorrow...
Realized that I didn't get this uploaded the other day - - the S1/S2 vest alongside the S3/S4. The only thing left on the S3/S4 vest is setting the shoulder snap.
Working on setting hooks and snaps on the pants today. Only took me a year... #thanksharvey
(And yes, I fixed the button that was out of alignment. It was bothering me.)
