#dragon drift

I like to think that instead of having a subspace, Dragonformers would have a secondary holding stomach they could send treasures to without fear of corroding/destroying/digesting the precious things they mean to add to their hordes.

That's where Df! Drift sends his Little One when he recaptures them post a failed escape attempt. And while he's out, because he's hungry, he decides to snag a couple of deer for the road back. The poor human in his drier stomach can hear him chewing on something before swallowing again. But instead of getting pelted by the rest of the dragon's meal, they feel it course past the stomach they're being contained in to get pooled in the larger one beneath it. Which, of course begins to gurgle, and knead away at the contents inside it.

I think the idea that Drift's Little One would be frightened by being eaten, and then indirectly shown what could happen to them if this giant dragon wasn't so... enamored with them? Is this like an amusement thing? Or a tarantula and tiny frog kind of relationship?? (Some larger tarantulas will allow a small frog to stay with them, bc the frog will eat the bugs targeting the tarantula's eggs, and the tarantula will protect the frog.) They just can't wrap their head around why the dragon wants them around so much that he would chase them down just to drag them back to his cave again.

I think their terror, and general reluctance to be anywhere near him would make Df! Drift sad. He's been nothing, but gentle. He's made sure to feed them, and light little fires to keep them warm. He curls around them at night to keep them safe, and warm. He doesn't understand why they haven't figured that they aren't in any danger yet.

Sniff Sniff Sniff. Sniiiffff. Followed by frightened horse noises. Horses were such funny creatures! The dragon had no interest in eating the frightened animal, humans tended to shoot at things that tried to eat their animals. 

Obviously this was human territory, they had a house up here of all places. Sometimes Drift took shelter in abandoned structures during storms or cold weather, though he never stayed long. Though with the horse and the scent, this place wasn’t abandoned. 

Like, Imagine being a Knight, sent with your order to slay the beast. Maybe you're more inclined to be a medic to your fellow knights.

Darting between the ruins of buildings as bricks crumble around you. You nearly miss flames being sprayed in your direction. The cries of your fellow knights have slowly faded, you dare not wonder what has become of them.

Instead, your focus is placed on the slim chance you have to survive. The beast is moving through the battlefield, and you can hear the small clink of armor as the Dragon noses through your fallen order for goods.

It’s bad luck that your armor shifts despite your attempt to keep quiet. Even worse luck is that the Dragon is immediately on you, its claws digging into your armor and practically peeling you from it as the Dragon snarls at you, saliva dripping hot onto your skin.

It's not gentle as it cracks your armor with its teeth, dragging you free to quickly swallow down despite your attempts to fight back. It's rough with you and uncaring about how you feel.

Maybe you survive when he makes the shift from Deadlock to Drift and get whiplash from how he went from treating you as a glorified chew toy, to a savory snack that had to be cherished.

He'd be so excited with a "Look what I found!!!"

The human looks completely traumatized after being chased by Rodimus. Drift looks somewhat concerned at how the human looks in Rodimus's hands.

Thinking about Dragonformers! Drift getting his Little One a paired amulet that allows him to sense their emotions, and vice-versa. (Like the collar, but less dehumanizing lol.) And immediately he's on the alert, because his Little One is Terrified. So very-very scared, but clearly the threat at hand is one that only they can sense somehow. Because he can't see/smell anything out of place even after he's lifted them out of harms way.

Hhhhhmmmm... ... ... Could it be? ... No. They aren't afraid of Him, are they? But why? He's been sososososo careful with them, made sure that they'd been fed, kept warm, protected. They've got everything they need, and anything they could ever want! Why? ... ... ...

It could be due in part to how they came to be a part of his horde. They certainly belong here, but they couldn't have known that the way he did. The way he does. When a piece of a dragon's horde Calls to them, it's more than just seeing something shiny, and wanting it for yourself. It's a feeling, an innate desire for something meaningful to you. That's why every dragon's horde is different.

The little one he took...-His Little One. Is a special piece of his horde, irreplaceable. And hopefully after he finds a way to communicate that to them, they'll understand. They'll calm down. They'll accept their place by his side. He... Understands how they're feeling about all this now, and is glad for it. It'll take a while, sure, but they're smart and he's patient. It'll all work out in the end. He's sure of it.

He will purr and wiggle like hell. He loves it. He never had smtg like that before. Having so tiny hands on his belly. It tickles but just the right amount. After all, his little human IS the right companion he wanted !

YES YES YES!!!! Dragon Drift is SO ticklish, and he LOVES the feeling of you rubbing his belly. He’s on his back, tongue lolling out of his mouth while he pants like a happy dog while his hind leg does the belly scratch movement dogs do when they get their tummies rubbed. Purring like crazy, he becomes a puddle beneath your hands, and you wouldn’t know he’s a highly dangerous dragon who could and has killed hundreds.
