How I feel about your characters in canon:I've not played Leif's game yet, but as for Zeiss...

... I had to go take a quick look at my FE6 end game stats and it, um... doesn't look like I actually used him much, whoops. FE6 took me so long to beat, I figure I must have just wanted to finish the game and already had a core team ready to go around the time he showed up... I remember the Galle chapter being feelsy... I think...??? But. Memory of a goldfish, I swear. (It makes replaying games all the more enjoyable though |D)

I honestly don't remember much of anything about POR either hahaha. (I remember even less about the little bit of RD I've played.) I vaguely recall Naesala being a mix of amusing/annoying but that was so long ago. A lot of the type o chars I found irritating back in the day I love nowadays, and I've a feeling he'd probably be one of 'em.

What I like about how you play your muses:

They emote so well! I love learning more about your chars' backgrounds through your writing - tidbits here and there, always relevant and unobtrusive. Your characters feel really grounded in their environments, too.

(Zeiss's struggle with confidence in words is too relatable. Leif's apprehension about the throne feels pretty realistic... I wanna root for him, haha.  Can't say much about Naesala yet but I definitely look forward to keeping an eye on him!)

A potential plot idea between our muses:Leif and Ewan meeting up again later might be fun! I'm not sure how much free reign he gets after he becomes king, but I'm sure a trip to Jugdral will be on Ewan's list after their time together. Even kings need a break sometimes, right? ... I'm sure Ewan thinks so.

🌅- A memory associated with a certain location

The first time he’d visited Aurelis, its wide, open plains scared him. Perhaps “scared” wasn’t the right word; it had simply been that owing to his upbringing on rocky Grust, where only the hardiest of plants grew, he had been unnerved to see so much green in one place. For once, he and his fellows hadn’t had to pick their way across rugged cliffs where even one misstep could spell twisted ankles or much worse. The horses were happier than their riders to set hooves upon this lush paradise; indeed, they had promptly joined their wild cousins in grazing away as much of the countryside as they could.

The buildings, too, were unlike any he had ever seen. Never before had he seen so many of them topped by domes instead of spires, all done up in vibrant, earthy hues. Only the observatory chamber was similarly domed; perhaps the prior king had installed it after some diplomatic trip to this land. But no place in Grust was as colorful as this. The palace interior alone was adorned with vivid tapestries of King Aurelis’s and Duke Hardin’s esteemed ancestors, to say nothing of the citizens’ domiciles. Nor did the terrain permit the buildings to spread out the way Aurelis’s did—and the sprawl was done tastefully too, such that it did not detract from the landscape’s natural beauty.

And its people were one with the land as well. Belf had heard that Duke Hardin and his Wolfsguard (a knight unit not unlike Grust’s Sable Order) favored hit-and-run guerrilla tactics, tactics he himself disliked due to its seeming cowardice. But here he could see that these supposedly dishonorable tactics utilized the lay of the land to the fullest. At one moment, they struck; at another, they retreated, drawing their enemies ever closer to the places where they held clear advantage. It was easy to see how Aurelis had managed to keep its sovereignty throughout the war, and it made him wonder whether his own country could have done the same with someone like Hardin at the helm.

how i feel about your character in canon

Tbh, I was really struck by how pretty she was. By the time I’d gotten to her recruitment, I’d heard all about how good a unit she was, and was really excited (because Clive was so…..bad). And you know, she was Really Good. Better than pretty much all my other cavaliers. A truly excellent unit.

But………her talks with Clive. Talk about performative schmoop. Didn’t really feel genuine, the romantic equivalent of “if i cook cookies for 20 minutes at 400 degrees then if i turn the heat up to 4 million degrees-” meme. Made it….painful to use her near Clive, and since he was her support boost…

Bah.

And then her ending.

Double Bah.

I love and adore competent knight women. I love and adore competent knight women. Everything I liked about canon Mathilda, AND a much needed level of Chill to her relationship with Clive, making it much more palatable and believable.

I really want to branch Conrad out further (more threads, and more threads with other valentians), so I was thinking maybe he could watch her practice and take some tips, since I don’t think that learning How To Knight in a hidden village would be super conducive to him being Top of the Line.

There’s a teen- no, a short young man sitting in the garden, flicking marbles at other marbles alongside a group of children in front of a new building built on old foundations- He’s smiling, laughing, even as he loses to half a dozen children. None could tell whether he was losing on purpose or not- He was, but that’s not the point. Amidst the chatter, one of the children shouted over the rest, pointed at the redhead passing by with a stubby finger- a stranger lingering too long at their doorstep- and Chad lifted his head, brushing his short ponytail over his shoulder. A moment passed as he stood up to get a better look, before his eyebrows raised, confused.

“General Zeiss?” he asked, hesitant. “What’re you doing out in Lycia? I haven’t seen you in- Wait.”

He reined his tongue in before it could run away with him, hands fidgeting, before the left one came to rest on his belt as Chad shifted his weight, brow furrowed, confused, uncertain. The man in front of him was to young, too reminiscent of the one he’d attempted (and failed to) beat up, back when he was younger, more impulsive. This couldn’t be Zeiss. Right?

{ yes!!!! i really like this pair, both platonically and romantically. they’ve had such a profound impact on each other’s lives…. corrin is the one who helped make silas what he is now– the one who opened up his heart way back when he was a quiet boy who didn’t even bother responding to all of their questions. silas, in turn, learned how to treasure them with all that he had…. it’s easy to see just how much they matter to each other, both then and now. hell, that A support…. clenches my fist. 

whether platonic or romantic, i’m sure that they’ll always, always be important existences to each other… that will never change. corrin has always been well loved, but silas has never stopped being important nonetheless…

1. Their physical weak spots

Weak spots... can be interpreted many ways... But for one, I’d have to say the cold. Of course, like anyone, he’s terrible at either extreme in temperature--but his tolerance for cold is quite low, which is why you’ll hardly ever catch him in anything but long sleeves. If caught unprepared, he’ll be shuddering in what might even be cool weather, and be completely annoyed by it. His mood gets colder, too!

14. Ingrained habits/forces of habit

When taking instructions, directions, orders, etc., he tends to respond quickly and shortly--often almost sounding like he’s irritated, or dismissive. It’s not the impression he means to give at all. He simply doesn’t like unnecessary blathering, especially when it’s repetitive or downright obvious. It’s not a conscious decision to be rude or anything. It’s more like--

Yes, sure, I’ve got it, you can stop wasting your breath explaining and just let me do it already.

19. People they’ve hurt or indirectly killed, and how it affected them

His first scuffle was with Gray, who had teased him once too much. He doesn’t really remember the context, but given that they were children, it was without a doubt something stupid. They were kicking and pulling hair, rolling around in the dust, flailing their hands and arms in nothing that could be considered punches.

A scream. Tobin leapt into action, pulling Kliff off the other boy. Gray pushed himself up, one hand on the ground, the other cupped around his eye. The unobscured eye was wide, watery, and targeted on Kliff.

Kliff wailed. Absolutely bawling. He thought Gray was going to lose an eye, and it was all his fault. His friend was going to go blind, all because of some stupid fight!

(Tobin, unsure to do with an inconsolable mess in his arms, let the child drop.)
