Big, serious brown eyes were staring right into his from only a few inches away. The child had clambered half over the arm of Derek’s chair to study him at close range, her little rosebud mouth pursed in concentration.

“Uh.” Derek couldn’t look away as the girl reached out one pudgy hand and patted him gently on the cheek. Her scent was soft and sweet and somehow a bit familiar, just enough to keep Derek from shying away. Derek didn’t know too much about kids but he guessed this one was probably three years old or so, head still oversized in proportion to the short limbs and round little belly.

She seemed fascinated with Derek’s beard, eyes widening further under incredibly thick lashes as she petted Derek’s cheek some more, smoothing down the short stubble. Finally she grinned widely. “Good wuff.”

Derek jerked upright, hands clenching on the edge of his seat. Did she just say?...

Après le suicide de Sherlock, John trouve un moyen de retrouver celui qu’il a perdu : en ingérant une quantité d’alcool précise, il parvient à faire des rêves lucides dans lesquels il invoque Sherlock. Un geste aussi pathétique que désespéré. Mais vient un jour où Sherlock est de retour dans sa vie, et pas seulement dans ses rêves. Reste un dernier obstacle cependant : Sébastien Moran, le dernier fidèle de Moriarty.

J’aime énormément l’idée de base de cette fic. Les rêves de John, qui sont presque des hallucinations provoquées, montrent toute la profondeur du chagrin de ce dernier. Le retour de Sherlock et la cohabitation forcée qui s’en suit est vraiment bien trouvé et permet de créer une situation de huis-clos très intéressante qui fera évoluer la relation entre Sherlock et John de manière très TRÈS sexy (le rating « Explicite » n’est pas volé).

La première fois que j’ai lu cette fic, j’avais trouvé qu’il y avait pas mal de lenteurs. J’avais l’impression qu’on se focalisait une éternité sur les relations sexuelles de Sherlock et John (toujours agréable, mais il me faut aussi de l’intrigue ou je me lasse vite) au détriment de l’avancée de l’histoire. C’était peut-être dû au fait que je lisais la fic au fur et à mesure des publications, donc avec un temps d’attente conséquent entre chaque chapitre. Quoi qu’il en soit, je viens de la relire d’une traite et j’ai été très agréablement surprise de trouver au contraire une histoire bien rythmée, qui alternait et intriquait de manière habile l’intrigue policière et sentimentale. Le suspens est bien présent, la confrontation finale avec Moran est glaçante et justifie tout à fait le happy end bien mérité !

“I am going to seduce you, Sherlock Holmes,” he rumbled into Sherlock’s ear, smiling as Sherlock’s breath grew unsteady again. “Not because you need it, but because you deserve it. We both do.” He gave Sherlock a squeeze. “Trust me?”

Sherlock’s head lifted, those uncanny pale eyes looking at John with complete sincerity. “I’ve always trusted you, John.”

Logan, rogue and friends get interviewed about the state of their relationship when the two get hitched. Sweet and fun.
