Pobre Sandy, ha caido en las manos del Dr. Fred!
Dr. Fred, Sandy Pantz, and Tentacles Maniac Mansion Halloween Countdown Day 5 I've known several ex-LucasArts employees, and they all love to brag about how their games were so much better than the classic Sierra adventures because you couldn't die. Allegedly, the move to eliminate death was a response to the frustration that was so common in early adventure games, particular in the era before auto-saving, but I think this is a fat lie. I think Ron Gilbert and company knew that they had created the single greatest death in the history of electronic games with the steal-Weird-Ed's-pet-hamster, microwave-it, give-Ed-the-exploded-remains, fade-in-on-your-own-tombstone sequence from Maniac Mansion. They knew they could never outdo themselves, so they made up an excuse to avoid ever having to compete with their own masterpiece. —- Halloween is rapidly approaching, and B Shoots; Clay Jumps! will be celebrating with a very special Halloween Countdown. Everyday in October I’ll post a new Claymation .gif of a ghastly ghost, goblin, ghoul, or other creepy-crawly from the world of video games. As always, your requests are welcome.
