"He was my father! He was my family!" The kid screamed, jumping away from the man in front of them.

"He was my family too! He was my son!" He screamed back, reaching out for them.

"No! No, he was not!" They stepped away again, swallowing the tears. "He wasn't your son the moment you stopped caring for him! The moment another child stepped in!"

"I always cared for him! For all of them!"

Blocks are arranged in height order with Charlie standing on the tallest block then Melanie, Monique, and Rachel on the smallest.

Charlie: the dogs dead.

Melanie: the dogs gone to heaven

Monique: look Janie, Fido had to be called away by God.

Rachel: so the dogs dead?

All: Adlibs, yeah, kind of, pretty much.

Monique and Rachel swap places.

Charlie: look, I don't want Janie to be associating with Timmy. His family is from a lower tax bracket.

Melanie: hey Janie, I don't think you and Timmy are the best of friends maybe you should stop playing with him.

Rachel: is it because his family is poor?

All: Adlibs, yeah, kind of, pretty much.

Melanie and Rachel swap places.

Rachel: mum, I found out yesterday, that I'm pregnant.

Charlie: what?! How could you do this to me? All you're life I have treated you like an adult and now you turn around and act like a child.

Forces Rachel off chair. Rachel walks backwards to the smallest block. Melanie and Monique move back up.
