“Where’s this, then?” Alison asked, stepping out of the TARDIS.  “Only it looks rather like Earth to me.”
The Doctor stepped out after her, taking a deep breath as though scenting the air. Which was precisely what he was doing, but she need not know that.  “That would be because it is. Brooklyn, New York, by the looks of it. 2018.”
The Master, standing just inside the doors, rolled his eyes.  “He cheats,” he told Alison.
“Nonsense,” the Doctor dismissed him, immediately changing the subject.  “But you know what Brooklyn means. Broadway! We should go see a show! I believe Hamilton is playing. Quite the big show this decade. The Lion King is on as well. The use of puppetry in that... You humans are wonderfully creative.”
The Master just rolled his eyes again and shut the doors behind them as a way of signaling he was finished with the conversation. The Doctor started strolling away down the street, but Alison hesitated.  “Doctor, what is that?”
She was pointing to a flashing sign above what appeared to be a tunnel of some sort.  “PANDEMONIUM,” it flashed in an ominous red. The P-A-N and I-U-M flickered in and out, leaving only DEMON. The whole thing looked sketchy. And exactly the sort of thing the Time Lords would throw at them. She was learning quickly that that was how things worked with them.
“Oh...” the Doctor replied. He sighed and said, “Perhaps we won’t get to see a show after all. Seems such a waste.”
