It wasn’t anything interesting, not really. Just a crispy piece of bread they were serving with today’s soup, which I had a little cupful of on a park bench that morning. It was hard for me to sleep last night, so taking an early walk while the rest of the household was asleep seemed like a nice idea.

Well, I hadn’t intended on anything strange happening today. But I didn’t really expect the little creature to climb up the bench next to me and beg for food.

“...You must be used to this. You’re quite plump.”

Again and again, more people from home caught his eye.

Certainly, Haurchefant did not recognize any of them specifically; could not call them out by name even if he tried, but knowing there were others was comfort enough for him. Though he had to wonder what the pattern was in those being pulled here. 

Were all of these individuals adventurers he had yet to meet? Perhaps they belonged to guilds in other cities, travelers from other nations, or people coming from other continents looking for something new? What was the tie that brought them all here?

Ah well. It likely wasn’t something any of them knew either, so there wasn’t much of a point in worrying over it, so long as it wasn’t rooted in some malicious act yet to be uncovered. For now, enjoying the soiree that was presented to them was a better course of action.

Despite those little teeth trying to gnaw into their sneaker, Anda doesn't seem particularly bothered by the red-coated rodent. If anything, they seem a little amused.

The scenery has all started to run together, in a nightmarish sort of way. The lavender fields of Lakeland giving way to the sands of Amh Araeng, to the watery depths of the Tempest. Lilli isn't sure where her dreams end and Fiala's begin.

As their surroundings give way to the gilded gates of Eulmore, a flood of people flee from a hoard of sin eaters. How many of these people are real? How many are part of this twisted vision?

"Are you injured?" Lilli offers a hand to help her friend up with a tired smile. "I'm no healer, but I've got first aid supplies on hand." Her eyes scan the chaos, and a frown tugs at her lips.
