Random additions to my old AUs: the Nightfall au!
I think, somewhere along the line, I forgot that this AU was a doublebattleshipping AU. Yes there's a focus on Evelyn self-actualizing, Nita's struggles with her amnesia, Morgan finally figuring out she's been managing the Battle Chateau all wrong, and her and Dana realizing they've been taking their younger sisters for granted, but there is also lots of fluff between two socially awkward double battle enthusiasts.
Case in point, one of Elesa's many attempts to get the two of them to take a break is to give them tickets to the Nimbasa amusement park. In a very devious move, she has Skyla hype up the ferris wheel to Evelyn without telling her about the romantic implications, leading to her being unaware until Emmet (who does not know that Evelyn is here on Elesa's suggestion) reveals that it's considered one of Unova's top ten date spots, and Evelyn goes practically luminescent. Emmet reads the situation as Evelyn having gotten maliciously pranked and is ready to immediately confront the two gym leaders on their trickery, but Evelyn works up enough courage to ask him to stay with her, just for a bit. And he reasons that the trick likely wasn't malicious at all.
(The two of them still get their revenge later, but that's a story for another day.)
