l've seen this take in online discourse multiple times and it always strikes me as people who don't grasp how satire works. It's not Rocky Science to see how taking cisheteronormative prejudice and ballooning it with sci fi tropes over 20 years past their prime and musical numbers is making fun of closeminded people.
* I do agree that the rape scene is probably too much, and I don't defend it, but tbh that was probably the least shocking part of all that when it came out. Times were weird.
