   KAT !! i think i’ve said this to you before but i’m so happy that you found my murdoc when you wrote 2D. that feels like such a stroke of luck & good fortune, looking back on it, and it’s crazy to think of how well we’ve gotten to know each other since then !! you have such a killer sense of humour, dude. there have been so many incidents where i’ll be lying in bed or sitting in the car & i think about something you’ve said and just bust a gut laughing all over again. on top of that, you have an incredible sense of empathy. you’re such a caring person & it really comes through in the way you portray your muses’ struggles and how you interact with other people. i cherish that a lot !!

she’s  been  asked  that  question  twenty  times  today;  through  stares,  gaping,  lasting  seconds  too  long,  followed  by  murmurs  behind  hands;  the  whispers  are  never  directed  to  her,  but  she  knows  they’re  about  her.  the  rothfield  murders  is  all  that’s  been  on  the  news  for  the  past  week,  and  jordan,  finally  being  discharged  from  the  university  hospital,  finds  herself  taking  a  day  to  herself.  her  professors  don’t  expect  her  in  class,  nor  do  her  fellow  students;  and  frankly,  she  has  enough  of  the  stares  as  she  walks  through  the  parking  lot,  the  automatic  doors,  and  aisle  after  aisle,  until  she’s  finally  in  the  bakery  section,  looking  at  the  displays  of  cakes.  the  only  interruption  comes  from  a  familiar  voice;  she  doesn’t  break  her  focus  as  she  inspects  the  detail  of  the  frosting.

‘  uninvited  guest.  ’   she’s  aware  that  doesn’t  explain  the  scrapes  still  healing  on  her  face,  the  bruises  just  now  fading  from  blacks  and  purples  into  a  sickly  yellow,  blotched  on  her  wrists,  stitches  from  one  stab  wound  peeking  out  from  where  the  collar  of  her  shirt  lays  against  collarbone.  the  aches  in  her  bones  are  dull  at  this  point;  she’s  gotten  used  to  it  over  the  last  ten  days  and  she’s  grateful  to  be  out  and  moving  around.  it’s  one  of  the  few  senses  of  normalcy  she’s  been  granted  thus  far.   ‘  how  much  extra  is  it  to  get  something  written  on  a  cake?  ’
