Oh yeah I remember when I was little I used to think that when people said "man-eating ____ (shark, bear, monster, you know) that they meant the things only ate men. So I was like well I'm a girl so hell yeah I'm safe why aren't there like, teams of girls fighting these things? And that was the only time old-school patriarchal values actually made me feel better about myself/ empowered.
