After your fight with Toriel, you finally got to exit the ruins. You're going to miss her, she was really nice. As you were walking down the only path in a snowy forest, you heard a stick snap behind you. Startled, you turned around. Nobody was there but a broken stick on the ground. Confused, you turn back around and continue on. You end up standing before a bridge. All of a sudden, you hear someone start talking behind you. "Human. Don't you know how to greet a new pal? Why don't you turn around and shake my hand." Without caution, you turn around and shake the stranger's hand. "PBBTT". "Hehe… the old whoopee cushion in the hand trick. It's ALWAYS funny. Anyways, you're a human right? That's hilarious. I'm sans, sans the skeleton. I'm actually supposed to be on watch for humans right now. But y'know, I don't really care about that capturing thing. Now my brother papyrus, he's a human fanatic hunting FANATIC. Hey actually, I think that's him over there. I have an idea. Go through this gate thingy. Yeah go right through, my brother made the bars too wide to stop anyone." When he was done speaking you walked with Sans through the gate. "Sorry I didn't introduce myself, I was waiting for you to finish speaking. My name y/n, it's nice to meet you!" "Nice to meet you too kiddo. Can you do something for me? I need you to quickly hide behind that conventionally-shaped lamp." You quickly hid behind the conventionally-shaped lamp. All of a sudden, Sanses brother Papyrus appeared. "Hey Bro." "YOU KNOW WHAT S " SUP" BROTHER. IT'S BEEN EIGHT DAYS SINCE YOU HAVEN'T…  RECALLIBRATED YOUR PUZZLES! YOU JUST HANG AROUND OUTSIDE YOUR STATION!  WHAT ARE YOU EVEN DOING?!?!" "Just staring at this lamp. It's really cool. Do you wanna look?" "NO! I DON'T HAVE TIME FOR THAT!" Papyrus started to angrily stomp his foot on the snow. You started to zone out from the rest of the twos conversation/argument. After Papyrus walked off, Sans came up to the lamp that you were hiding behind to get you. "You can come out now kiddo, he's gone." You came out of your hiding spot and looked at him expectedly. "Follow me kiddo." You did as he said and followed behind him like a duckling. 

A bunch of puzzles and confusion later, you walk up two to dog monsters. They were talking with each other, but stopped when you walked up. "Hello!" "Is that a pup?" The one who looked more feminine asked. The two came up to you and sniffed your head, making you giggle. "I think they're a lost pup. Pup are you lost? Where are your parents?" Asked the more masculine looking one. "I'm kinda lost, and no I don't have parents. Not any of my own.." You replied sadly. "Oh you poor thing! Dogamy can we talk for a second? Just a moment pup we need to talk. Wait here okay?" You nodded. The two walked away for a bit to talk to each other. You couldn't really understand what they were saying from the distance they were at. A few minutes later they came back. "Hey pup, what'd ya say about coming with us? We can take care of you if you'd like. We'd be your parents for you if you want." The dog named Dogamy said. You gasped, "Really?!" "Sure you can pup. I'm Dogressa, and this is Dogamy. Until our shift ends you can stay with us as at our current post." "Yay!" You ran up to your new parents and hugged their legs. They chuckled and picked you up, nuzzling their faces against your head and neck. You smiled brightly, happy to have some actual parents (no hate to toriel).

“Oh, I didn't expect you to still be up my child. Are you having trouble sleeping?” Toriel said as she put a bookmark in the book that she had been reading. Y/n nodded in response to Toriel and rubbed their eyes. “I usually have trouble sleeping, do you have anything that could help me sleep?” You asked Toriel. “Hm, well if you want, I can make you some tea. I could also read you a book. Maybe that might help.” You thought for a short while. “A book sounds good.” “Would you like to pick out the book yourself my child? Or I could pick out one of my favorites.” Y/n walked over to the bookshelf near the fireplace. There’s a variety of books, but only a few looked pretty interesting. “What about snail facts? Maybe a bunch of random facts will put me to sleep?” “Heh heh sure why not? It doesn’t hurt to try.” You grabbed the book and walked over to where Toriel was sitting. You handed her the book and then sat on her right leg (you’re like 16 or down). Toriel opened the book and started on page one. As Toriel kept reading tons of facts about snails, your mind started to focus less and less on what she was saying. Toriel's soothing, soft voice seemed to be enough to make you feel relaxed and comfortable. Relaxed and comfortable enough to become tired. After a quarter of the book being read, Toriel looked down at you. You were cuddling against her, head resting on her shoulder. Toriel smiled warmly at you. She carefully sat the book down and picked you up, bringing you back to your room. Toriel tucked you back into bed as quietly and carefully as possible, as to not wake you. When you were fully tucked in bed, Toriel quietly made her way to the bedroom door. As she was shutting the door, she whispers, “Goodnight my child.”
