Im sorry this took so long to do, I forgot about it! Also, Ive never written Donna before so Im sorry if she’s written wrong

21. Last kiss

Star looks to the ship, and back to the woman in thewheelchair; this is it. This is goodbye.

“I wouldn’t go if I didn’t have to,” she reminds Barbara,but Barbara doesn’t say anything back; her jaw twitches. “Tamaran needs me.”

It’s not that Barbara doesn’t understand; she does. But sheknows what this means; the war will take Star away for years, years longer hereon Earth, and that leaves Barbara alone. She grits her teeth; she wants to sayshe needs Star, but she knows that’s not right. It’s manipulative and mean; soshe nods once firmly, tosses her hair.

She will be fine without Star; she was fine before. She canbe fine again.

Star bends to kiss her, but Barbara turns her head and Starpauses; she continues forward and presses her lips to Barbara’s cheek.

“Goodbye, my love…” Star boards her ship, and she takes offfor Tamaran.

Barbara never sees her again; they hear, every now and then,of progress made in the war. Of casualties and speeches; Barbara grows old, theworld spins onwards, and she continues to watches the stars in hopes ofspotting her lover coming home.

She never sees Star again; Barbara dies peacefully in hersleep several decades after Star went away, and the day of her funeral is whenthe Tamaranean war ends.

45. To Keep a Cover(couple not established) kiss

Star knows what kisses are; they are ways to exchangeknowledge, the languages she’d learned passed on through lip contact. But whenDonna pulls her in close and kisses her, unexpectedly at that, she got veryconfused.

“Why did you do that?”

Donna peers around a corner at the person they have beensent to follow on this mission, a small smile playing at her lips. “Did what?”

“Kiss me; I know your language.”

Donna shrugs and steps out, following their targets path. “It’sa different sort of language.”

Star thinks about that for a minute; “what sort of language?I do not seem to have learned anything new.”

Donna laughs quietly and shakes her head; “the language oflove, Star; now come on, we can’t let him get away from us!”

“But, Donna,” Star calls as Donna takes off down the street.“Donna, what else is there to learn about this language?”
