There’s an “I” in TEAM
“You must be the change you wish to see in the world”                              -Gandhi
     Motivate | Inspire | Educate | Optimize | Empathize | Impact
I live and thrive off of these principals to motivate, inspire, educate, optimize, empathize, and  impact both others and myself.Â
As a senior in High School of Benjamin  O. Davis Jr., I resided on a pedestal.Upon this pedestal I was massively involved in athletics, theater, yearbook, and a plentiful amount of organizations. My time and efforts were entirely consumed in my activities and I had no idea that I’d have the time of day for College Community Career.
But I’m honored to say that I made time for it, being a student-athlete in CCC, was extremely helpful. Being in the program gave me the time of day I didn’t have to sit down and single out the colleges I wanted to attend. My safety schools, and my dream schools. And I’m proud to say that I found a happy medium at Texas State University to start of my college experience. Overall I’m entirely grateful to have devoted my time and efforts in this program, despite missing practices and rehearsals. Being a student in this program opened up self-assuring factors within myself and many opportunities. As a Posse Semi-Finalist through CCC I knew that I had great potential to succeed.
From being in the College Community workshops, to being behind the scenes of the workshops and executing them has been a fun and dynamic experience thus far. Working behind the scenes with CCC as a Summer VISTA has increased my appreciation and value of the organization much more. Seeing and executing all of the extent measures the Org makes in order to provide information for the students and parents and for workshops, field trips, & activities has been eye opening. Not to mention, but totally mentioning, the volunteer work that’s planned and participated in, it’s been a humbling experience.
As stated before I live and thrive off of the principals to motivate, inspire, educate, optimize, empathize, and  impact others. And working with CCC I feel as if I’m doing so, with the students the program works with. I’m proud to state and be one of the Individuals selected to be apart of The College Community Career Team.
But I’m NOT the only “I” in this Team, CCC Student and Summer Vista Victor Rodriguez had these things to say:
“I joined College Community Career as a Sophmore in high school and have been engaged ever since. I really owe the team a lot. They really helped me get into college. If it was not for CCC I woudn’t have had someone to educate me on the college application process, and deadlines that I would have never known of. All while being a great system of support.Â
Who knows if I would still even be going to college at Texas Tech University if it wasn’t for CCC. Working for CCC, I am able to return the favor and pay it forward. I am more than delighted to help students invest in themselves. It brings me joy to help mold our future leaders, and it is really fun. I have plenty to thank CCC for.”
