His thumbs gently trace the lines beneath his eyes where goggles once lay, admiring his raccoon eyes from the tan lines he'd acquired. The face of a working man, one that leaves him grinning as he leans in and kisses his cheek. âShall we go to dinner tonight, meine Geliebte? My treat, of course.â
Gentle are the hands that draw face away towards work. How they are deceptive they are, made soft from lavishing in crimson ichor daily. For a few moments he tries to ignore those loving fingertips tracing pale marks around his eyes and soft lips that press against the stubble of his cheek and steely focus begins to slowly rust.
Focus lent towards the blueprint unfurled on his desk, split then forgotten. Itâs slowly that his eyes lift to meet Klause observing him from his throne of complacency.
âLater,â he assures in a quiet drawl. Absently he reaches for that grasp, strong hands holding to that palm that rests against the roughness of his cheek.
âLater.â Dell repeats in more of a promise, quieter softer tones are spoken under a breath. The Engineer brushes Klauseâs finger with the tips of exposed digits before lips press against pale skin. Itâs a simple brush of his mouth along the sides of others knuckles, a certain reverence to the touch.
Such a sight.
Oh, god of creation what unholy demon do you give your tainted soul.
He presses another kiss to the inside of his wrist then another on the flat on the Medicâs palm. âLet me jusâ admire you a lilâ longer.â
Rests his cheek on top of his head.
Safety ; How short lived it was. Constantly running from one end of the city towards the other, lingering around buildings and rooms in search of equipment used to survive. The infection spread / people grew scarce. Nowhere to run or hide from the ever-changing virus that looms over their head, a storm ready to strike.Â
There were three things that made Ellis feel incredibly safe : his gun, the rooms boarded up by brick doors, and Klause ( safety in numbers, yet he became ellisâ number one ). One could say it was because he was a doctor, a man of medicine and a strong vocabulary. He held himself up in fights against the undead while clean a wound in a matter of minutes. Those were none of the reasons, oh no. A benefit, sure, but it was Klauseâs warm personality and charming demeanor that made the mechanic feel at ease. One could say Ellis wasnât the best at judgment, as heâs always polite and welcoming to strangers, in and out of the zombie apocalypse. With Klauseââââ it was different. An old friend he reunited once more after years of phone calls and emails. Klause became familiar. Familiar and safe.
Their backs press against the wall of an abandoned building they found shelter in, side by side. Words leave aimlessly from the truckerâs lips ( one time, my buddy keith â ), a ritual the two have created with one another. Rest was needed / a day to simply relax and reminisce in the past. Little did he know was Klause slowly drifting into a deep slumber, all thanks to Ellisâ pleasant memories. Pressure was applied to the top of his head, instantly causing the words to stop. Eyes drift upward as if he could see what the medic had been doing, but to no avail, nothing ( thanks cap ). A smile, warm like the summer rays, curve onto his features, while his head tilts and finds home onto the otherâs shoulder.

He places a gentle kiss to his cheek as he walks by, quick enough for only the two of them to know. No reason given, nor even a chance to catch his reaction, making his way out the room just as quickly as he had came in. âDo be careful out there, my friend.â
 Sweet words couldnât stop bullets, wouldnât stop the deaths that were going to happen on both sides in minutes. But soft lips met the stubble of his cheek and he wished his mouth moved faster for a chance to say proper well wishes. The Engineer blinks, looks down and finds a distraction in the PDA gripped between his hands and looks over it twice though the screen is black.   He listens to the corridor for retreating footfalls (light and unmistakable) tipping his head down further and purposefully letting shadows obscure his face fighting to keep a grin from his lips and hoping that the sudden burning felt on his cheeks was from the New Mexico weather. He almost wishes his mind were slightly more irrational so that he could humor the Medic. So for just those few seconds they could believe they werenât trapped and would be tearing at each otherâs throats. But impractical thinking has never his way. Nothing he could say at this point would would reach but the Engineer mutters words that are soft and gentle.   âWatch yourself out there, Doc.âÂ

    âMEDIC!â he screamed again, for the third time in the past five minutes. Somebody mustâve lit a fire under the BLU teamâs asses, because they were brutal today. Heâd done his best to use whatever first aid kits were lying around, but had yet to get it through his head that, when the enemy was this focused, it was probably safer to play around the rest of his team. Time and time again heâd tried to circle around, get a good shot off on the other doctor or their Sniper, but there had always been their Pyro, or the Engineer with a well-placed turret to ward him off. He was starting to get frustrated, and a frustrated Scout was a messy Scout. âME-DIC! Iâm dyinâ âere!â It occurred to him, far later than it should have, that maybe his Medic was having a hard time too. The Scout had never been one for planning, but he could put two and two together to make four: if he found the Medic, heâd get healing, and the doctor would be safer with him around. âHey, Doc, over âere! Come this way, Doc!â
@doesharm   RESCUED  !   /   CALL.
   â   That ainât right.   â
The two stopped briefly at an abandoned building in search of equipment ; they needed anything they could take in order to survive the next day. Fingers curl around the jar, cool glass pressed on his palm while lifting it up from the small table. Disgust paints his face, observing the sickly green liquid sway back and forth in its containment. No matter how many times heâs seen it, Ells never gets used to the bile bomb.
   â   A jar is no place for bodily functions.   â
