Okay, so I know nothing about the British university experience (do they even have frats?) so I’m just gonna do this based on what I know about American college Greek life. Hope that’s okay!

James and Sirius join a social fraternity the second semester of their freshman year

Because they’ve been friends since they were eleven and they’ve talked about going to the same school and being roommates and joining the same fraternity since they’ve known each other

The upperclassmen like them instantly because they’re this double act and they’re cool and they’re down to party

The school doesn’t allow hazing and this frat doesn’t exactly haze but they do require their pledges to do some publicly embarrassing shit

Like being filmed walking around campus in a cow costume and you get down on all fours to ask people to “milk you”

And you basically make sex noses the whole time

James and Sirius are both up for the challenge because they think it’s hilarious

(Sorry I’m just going to interject for a moment and say that that is based on a true story I saw this happen I was there I didn’t milk anyone but he had me hold a sign for the camera and then he told me “I’d milk your utter” like weird things happened to me freshman year)

James and Sirius are “twin” Littles like they have the same Big (cool dude named Kingsley Shacklebolt) because it’d be a crime to separate them

James’ nickname on his jersey is Prongs because of this really really funny story with a fork you just had to be there

Sirius gets Padfoot because his laugh kind of sounds like a bark and he just loves dogs okay

Fall of sophomore year is when they meet Remus who is the RA of their hall

Remus is one of those RAs who’s like “what I don’t see and hear is alright you won’t get written up if you’re not dumb about it” and while he isn’t someone that James and Sirius would normally hang out with they think he’s awesome and they invite him to dinner and parties and to play video games in their room so he’s not lonely (he just seems lonely to them and they’re right)

They eventually convince him to join the frat in the Spring because he’s super fucking cool and so he does because Remus secretly wants to belong somewhere and even though he isn’t the typical recruit, he grows on the other members

(James and Sirius convince everyone to be easy on Remus during the hazing thing)

Remus also is always there at parties and he sees the underage drinking but he doesn’t report anyone because FRIENDS

Peter is this guy in James and Sirius’ (THEY HAVE MATCHING SCHEDULES!) marketing class and he’s really intimidated by how cool they are but one time the three of them are in a group project together and once he reveals how fucking funny he is, James and Sirius are like you’re amazing join our fraternity

So Peter joins fall of junior year and it’s like FRIENDSHIP

Oh and by the way both Remus and Peter are James’ Littles because he likes to hoard these two people that he somewhat took under his wing and smother them with love and the occasional drunken advice

He also makes them arts and crafts sometimes and buys them candy when he’s at stores to surprise them with he’s just a really great and thoughtful Big okay he’s really into it

Sirius isn’t too jealous because he’s basically that cool uncle with no kids

He never wants a Little like ever

Then one day James meets Lily at a party and she’s in the service fraternity

He falls for her passion to help others and he starts to participate in charities and events with her

Not just because he likes her so much but because she’s sparked this interest within him

He drags Sirius, Remus, and Peter with him to these events and they all start enjoying this whole “getting involved” thing plus Lily is super cool and funny

James still likes to party but he’s slowed down a bit, gets more focused on charity work and making their community and the world a better place

James and Lily share their first kiss at Relay for Life at the end of their junior year

The next year they lead the committee that organizes it

They’re disgustingly cute

When Harry’s born a few years later the big debate of their marriage is whether he’ll be in a social or service frat

It’s a big deal
