If you guys are fans of good documentaries, or even just good films in general, definitely check out The Last Out over at DOCNYC2020 until November 19!
It was.... the most stressful documentary I’ve ever watched (apart from “Night Will Fall” ie the “original footage of holocaust camp corpse piles compiled into a documentary”) about a very recent set of events with people who are barely older than when the documentary was filmed in the mid-to-late 2010s.
I jumped in expecting baseball struggles and ended up with the biggest documentary curveball (baseball pun intended) I’ve ever seen. Please go watch it!!!! It’s an immigrant story about Cuban baseball players that turns into a harrowing, insane, “how the hell did you capture this footage” film halfway through.
I hope they put it to stream because it deserves to be seen by more people.
I’m linking the documentary in the reblog, but you can also find it over on the DOCNYC page. Please do watch it! It’s definitely worth it.
I’m stressed and I cried and it is amazing.
I’ll be coming out with an article about it in the next day or two!
