Pairing: Fredragon (Chilton/Dolarhyde) (and may I take this moment to express my delight that the tag of ao3 insists that is it Dr. Frederick Chilton?  None of the other doctors get that title :P)

Summary:The body must be prepared before it can withstand the Revelation of the Great Red Dragon and give the message to the other lowly creatures.Set in the period between when Dolarhyde snatches Chilton from his van and when Chilton wakes up, written from the POV of Dolarhyde/the Dragon.

Warnings:  So, so many.  This depicts noncon/rape.  (In case it informs your comfort as a reader, it is nonpenetrative).  Dolarhyde is not a well man, and his internal monologue that is just drenched with internalized homophobia and misogyny.  Please approach this piece with caution.

*drags hands over face* I’m kinda TERRIFIED every time that post gets popular again because EVERY TIME I know there will be a slew of "has this been done or...?” and this INCESSANT, AGGRESSIVE DEMAND for it, like, because the idea exists, it must be written now, immediately, the masses demand it. And like, yes, it is a good idea, I like it too, that’s why I wrote the post about it and also because I didn’t have time in the present moment to dedicate as much time to it as it deserved.

Now, it WAS my fault that I framed it poorly. I framed it as a general cool AU I wanted to see instead of ‘hey here’s this fic I want to some day work on’ that was my bad for not owning it in the first place. But knowing I MAY not have time for it, being unable to foresee when I WOULD have time for it, I felt maybe I SHOULD leave it open.

And EVERY WRITER I’ve spoken with who has had interest in it, specifically @damnslippyplanet and @bad-signal has been SUPER GRACIOUS and COMPLETELY understood that it’s my intellectual property and respected that. AND I LOVE YOU BOTH FOR THAT. We had very nice, civil discussions about what should be done and I pointed out that, look, yes I WOULD be a dick if I prevented someone with a great idea from following through, and I don’t want to be doing that. At the same time... it is mine and I would at least like a heads up about how it’s being used. I don’t think that’s too much to ask, and neither did the two writers. Again, THANK YOU GUYS.

But those were PRIVATE discussions as they SHOULD HAVE BEEN where the hungry masses couldn’t see. So I’ve been labeled a dick for reminding people it actually IS my idea and I DO want to write it and YOU KNOW FUCKING WHAT I am SO TIRED of this circus, YOU’RE GETTING YOUR GODDAMN WISH, I’LL START TONIGHT.

This is NOT how I wanted to do this, but then maybe we can finally have some consensus on this.

It’s my idea that I decided to share with the public because I thought everyone would like it. That doesn’t make it less my idea. But it also doesn’t mean I get to decide what other people write. If other people wish to write about my AU, go for it. I’d appreciate a head’s up or a shout out or something but clearly I may not always get that, so, no obligation. I am also writing my own idea because, by the way, it was and is mine and I am allowed to use it as I wish too. I am NOT actually obligated to write you anything JUST because I had the idea. I’m not obligated to write it when YOU want it. But hey, apparently there’s a deadline on ideas and if I don’t do it fast enough, I lose all rights to it. That’s what I’m getting out of this. Remind me not to share my ideas in the future.

1. Do you dress up for Halloween? Why or why not? What’s your favorite Halloween costume if you do?

I do, now.  Mostly because my group of friends are big into Halloween and I don’t want to be a wet blanket of a friend. I usually go as the sidekick or partner to whatever my friend is dressed as.  I tend to pick things either WAY too obscure or too common place.  I need to work on this. 

2. Do you throw themed parties, and if so, what’s an example of one?

No.  I let people how are better at it throw them for me.  For instance, my birthday is coming up this month and a friend is throwing me a Drunken Jane Autsten themed do.

3. What’s your favorite thing to drink during the day? In nighttime social settings?

During the day, tea.  Nighttime social gets a bit tricky.  It depends on my mood. A good beer is always proper, I’ll do whisky ginger if I’m really feeling accomplished, I try to avoid the demon grape.  It wants humans to suffer. I’ll do shots if I’m feeling particularly destructive.

4. How do you feel about fireworks? Have you ever specifically gone to a crowded area to watch a big show or do you prefer more private viewing?

Not my favorite thing.  The big sponsored ones are usually over heated and overcrowded.  Also, I live downtown and I take no pleasure in playing a hearty round of  Was That a Gunshot or a Firework?”. 

5. What’s your favorite book you’ve read recently? Least favorite book you’ve read recently?

Recent fave would be Howls’ Moving Castle(re-read).  Least fave How To Make An American Quilt.  Had to re-read it for a Women in Folklore class and it pissed it off now just as much as it did the first time I had to read it. 

6. What’s a movie you’d like to see but haven’t yet? What’s a movie you wish you’d never seen?

I’d like to see The Lobster or Love & Friendship.  I wish I hadn’t wasted the time watching Boyhood.  So much hype for such a crap movie. 

7. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live?

Not quite sure anymore.  The one placed I’ve always wanted wanted to live is tearing itself apart and it makes me very sad. 

8. What is your opinion of the color beige?

Deepest of sighs.  Actually, not even a sigh.  That would be too much for beige.

9. What is your favorite mode of transport? Least favorite mode of transport?

Trains still sound romantic to me even though I’ve been told by several people that they are bloody awful. Some days public transportation is the living worst. Depends on the day. 

10. Can one live too close to family as an adult?

Depends on the family.

11. Recommend a fanfic you think everyone should read.

A Sherlock fic called Finger Slip.  There’s a cannibal macaroon in it! So cute!
