The Illustrated Encyclopedia of Rock [NEW 1978 Edition] - Dobie Gray (I believe I was in 6th grade, at the time, still on AM radio - “Oh, give me the beat, boys, and free my soul I wanna get lost in your rock and roll and drift away.”) Born in Brookshire, TX in 1942, #dobiegray was one of eight children, and had a poor upbringing - his parents were sharecroppers.
