Album Number Four Hundred Eighty Eight “The Allnighter” is the second solo studio album by #GlennFrey, the guitarist and co-lead vocalist for #TheEagles. The album was released in mid-1984 on MCA in the United States and the UK, two years after Frey's modestly successful debut album #nofunaloud and four years after the demise of the Eagles. It was and still is Frey's most successful solo album throughout his whole solo career, having reached No. 22 on the Billboard charts, and releasing two top 20 singles with "#SmugglersBlues" and "Sexy Girl". The album achieved gold status by the RIAA in the US. It is generally regarded as the culmination of the smoother, more adult-oriented sound of Frey's solo work. My copy is on #mcarecords - MCA-5501. (I’ve included pic of the UK release) The single "Smuggler's Blues" helped to inspire the #miamivice episode of the same name, and Frey was invited to star in that episode, which was Frey's acting debut. Album Number Four Hundred Fifty Two. “React” is the first official live album, and fifth overall, by #thefixx , released in 1987. It was recorded during three concerts in Canada in 1986 in the band's tour in support of their album #walkaboutalbum . The album contains three new studio tracks: "Big Wall", "Rules and Schemes", and "Don't Be Scared", which was released as a single. Also included is a re-recorded studio version of "Red Skies". My copy is on #mcarecords - MCA-42008. Studio tracks 1-4 recorded and mixed at The Townhouse Studios, London. The first single, "#secretseparation ", spent two weeks atop the Billboard Album Rock Tracks chart in July 1986; it was the band's second No. 1 single on the chart. My copy is on #mcarecords - MCA-5705. The album was produced by #ruperthine . Singer #cycurnin started working on the album while temporarily living in Africa. #walkabout was the first album to include bass player #dannybrown as an official member of the band. It contains the American hit "#areweourselves ?", which reached No. 15 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the fall of 1984. The song hit No. 1 on Billboard's Album Rock Tracks chart, staying at the summit for several weeks. It was also assisted by a popular MTV music video. It was the group's most successful studio album, reaching No. 8 on the Billboard albums chart and eventually selling two million copies in the United States alone. The album was certified Platinum by the RIAA. It was certified platinum in Canada in November 1983. The album's cover art was provided by #georgeunderwood , who went on to illustrate future #thefixx releases including Phantoms (1984), Calm Animals (1989), and #beautifulfriction (2012).
