Entry Three
Fishing is nice, it’s a calming thing to do. I spent a bit of time fishing what I could, getting a few nice items. Though I should have expected myself not to be content with fishing forever. I was restless, the need to do something more settling inside me. I couldn’t stay within the confines of swamp town, and at this time I still barely knew the people I was with. So I made the incredibly stupid decision to take half of my fish and just, go. I decided to head south since the North seemed full of snow and ice and at least there was ocean down south. This exploration isn’t just for the thrills. I hoped to find trees other than oak and spruce to bring back, to make the homes built seem more lively. I did find Birch and harvested some trees. On my adventure I raided a sunken ship and followed a map to a buried treasure. It was below some ice, but I cleared a large hole and went in. Slowly I uncovered the chest, periodically going up for air. On one of the trips down I was sure I had enough time to go back up, but I was wrong. All at once my lungs filled with water and in no time at all I was gone from that life. I woke up within the Swamp Town Community Center. This death was different from my first death, from before the Death Magic took root in our souls. The golden scales on my skin became a bit more tarnished and cracks of Obsidian began to run through the larger patches and my wings. I took a glance at myself in the ice and saw my left eye was a bright purple, so different from my normal darker purple. I hate it.  As soon as I was done looking myself over I took enough iron for a sword and shield and some fish to eat before heading back out. I needed to get my stuff back for one, and I hadn’t gotten nearly enough trees to bring home. With a boat I easily made it back and reclaimed my items, as well as opening the buried treasure and collecting those items as well. I kept pushing forwards, unwilling to stop. I was not afraid of death, no more so than when I had arrived in this strange area. I will return home with trees for my new acquaintances.Â
