Do-hyeon is such an asshole in season 2 of my First, first love. We saw hints of it in Season 1 with him encouraging Song-i to move, hence having no permanent or stable place to stay just so she wouldn't stay with Tae-o, her best friend and his close one, just because he was jealous. Shouting repeatedly at a quiet, heartbroken and exhausted Song-i then trying to make it up by buying her stuff or insisting to take her home. His anger at Tae-o for being there for Song-i in arguably one of the most important and difficult moments of her life isn't even directed at himself but genuinely at the two of them for him not being there?? How does that make sense? They were very low-key cute in season one but everything Do-hyeon does now seems to come from a place of jealousy, possessiveness and immaturity which is strange for a character who's supposed to be calm and rational. And the way he starts breathing quickly and gets pissed off with Tae-o and Song-i is really uncomfortable. He has shown himself to be a toxic person, friendship and romantic relationship wise.

Starring: Ji Soo, Jung Chae Yeon, Choi Ri, Jung Jin Young, and Kang Tae Oh
Rating: ★★★★☆
I felt like this drama was very cute. It encompassed all the aspects you would expect from a coming of age drama, where the main characters are in university and trying to figure out their lives. As for the romance, I personally liked Song-i (Jung Chae Yeon) and Do Hyeon (Jung Jin Young) together-- and they were together for a little bit but that relationship didn’t last. He tried so hard to make it work but fate just wanted Song-i to be with Tae-o I think the acting was overall pretty good. There were some emotional bits here and there, and really funny parts as well but nothing that moved me to tears or made me laugh uncontrollably.
Now let’s look at some of my favorite moments from the drama:
1) Tae-oh’s lovely, quirky, and corny words. Yes, yes, I said I didn’t really like them as a couple but I have to admit it’s quite beautiful how their friendship bloomed into a romantic relationship.
2) Here is another one of Tae-oh’s quirky and corny phrases. He claims to know so much about relationships and how to keep a girl happy, yet it’s ironic how he couldn’t tell that he truly loved Song-i until late in the game. But that’s the beauty of life isn’t it? To learn from your mistakes? So I applaud him for that.
3) And here’s the couple that I liked <3 Do Hyeon was just so innocent. He loved her more than she did him and he continued to until he could not anymore. He tried so hard in the circumstances that you could-- even though he wasn’t rich and couldn’t spend a lot of time with her... he did his best which I love him for. He makes do with what he had and what he had was not enough for her-- which is another one of life’s realities that a lot of people don’t realize.
I particularly liked this scene because you see that he wants to share everything with her. His taste in music, his love, his appreciation for her.
4) And lastly, when Do Hyeon gives her the gift-- even when they weren’t together anymore he wanted her to be happy (crying emoji). Now that’s what you call a supportive friend.
