Reposting this to my main blog instead of my themed one because it has sat untouched for a couple days now, despite the tags 💀
Pronounced 'neeve', this is a brand new OC for my DnD world, Othello :D They are a Canary, a subset of Feyfolk descendants with a heightened sensitivity to fey magic and other invisible threats found deep in the caves of the world.
They are often used in mining operations in place of proper detection equipment to pick up on dangerous magic or gas leaks quicker than other miners. This has over time gotten them the name 'Canaries', in reference to the older trade trick of using canary birds in mines.
I DO COMMISSIONS! :D You can find my commission info HERE on Fiverr, as it is the most updated for pricing!

DND World
First of all, @br0ken-camera, do look at my next few posts, it will spoil the DND campaign.
In the campaign I am DMing for, there are fifteen countries and there colonies if they have any. I will talking about all fifteen in my next few posts.
Until then, here is the map I drew by tracing over generated maps from Azgaar’s Fantasy Map Generator and moving them around.

Let’s take a look at the city of Shadowkeep!
Shadowkeep was the second of three cities in the kingdom of Sevythiel to act as capital and home to the Monarchy. More than a thousand years ago, following the end of the age of dragons, Kings and Queens moved from the first capital, the north-western city of Drochaven, and took up residence in the protected, central and connected city of Shadowkeep, at the Shadowlake. They ruled there for several centuries before the stronger and grander fortified city of Ironvale grew and became the new home of kings.
Shadowkeep’s architecture is very consistent across the inner city; a very Anglo-European style, buildings inside the city walls are made of stone and wooden beams, with a signature Shadowkeep red slate for the roofs.
Upper windows often have shutters that are frequently pulled closed—especially at night—and you can generally never see inside through the muddy, diamond-pane glass. Buildings all tend to have a top-heavy construction, causing them to overhang streets and alleyways, adding to the claustrophobic feel of the city. Denizens of Shadowkeep fear use of magic these days, so it’s not uncommon to see arcane places of business now boarded up, or the magic components hastily scrubbed off the menu.
Resources are in ever-shortening supply and the spirit of “every person for themself” is thriving more each day. The quality of the wares at the market are a good indication of how bleak it is to live there.
Outside the city walls, the buildings have a touch more character, with plaster finish instead of stone and more variety and softer angles in their design. However, it’s clear that this freedom from the oppression of the city is double-sided; the outer town is left to fend for itself, with streets of dirt rather than cobbles and a great many more poor souls homeless in the non-existent gutter.
