âa personâs favorite coffee tells a lot about a person, yâknowâ
WHAT IF DMITRY IS A CUTE BARISTA IN A COFFEE SHOP AU? WELL, MY FRIEND, IT WOULD HAVE TO INCLUDE...
dmitry got this job as a side gig while heâs trying to find something better
originally this was going to be like a month job
but then dmitry realizes that he is a regular cassanova and the ladies love him and tip vvv nicely
so maybe he decides that he can keep this job for a little bit longer
you, on the other hand, do not work at the coffee shop, but you are a paid intern for a news broadcast nearby, and you have to pick up the coffee
and you are always in such a rush that you just tip a normal amount as you rush out
and you know dmitry notices this
and his coworkers (who are a little fed up at how he keeps getting such good tips) tease him about it
and thus the war begins
everyone compares how much they get in tips from you and dmitry doesnât understand why you give nicholas romanov more in tips than him
he was old enough to be your dad!
all the while, you are oblivious to what is happening
you just gave whatever cash you had on you at the time - there was no real rhyme or reason to it.
and one day, you walk into the shop on a saturday
and itâs slow because itâs after lunch but before dinnerÂ
and you really just wanted to sit down to check if your roommates had given you the grocery list or not, and this was the first place on the way there
and so you walk in and you order something for yourself, and dmitry is at the counter
and as you are paying, you remember how stressed you were this week and couldnât remember exactly how curt you were but figured you had been pretty pissy
and dmitry had helped you almost every day of the week
so you decided to tip him extra today
and you notice that he smiles uncharacteristically wide and maybe you think itâs cute but you donât make anything of it
so you get your coffee and you sit down
and in the back room you hear,,, a commotion???
so, naturally, you listen in
âthere is no way she did itâ
âread this receipt then look me in the eye and tell me that i have done it.â
âyouâve done it, dmitry. youâve gotten the highest tip from the infamous (y/n).â
âseven dollars have never been so sweet.â
and you find yourself laughing
there was talk about your tips - should you be flattered???
but now that you knew this was a thing, you decided to milk it
dmitry was your favorite barista
funny, good looking, kind
but he didnât know that
so you started by tipping his coworker (nicholas) six dollars
he smiled at dmitry and you could see the cute barista absolutely s e e t h e
and even though you have never spent so much money on coffee, it was worth it
you carry cash so that dmitry can wave it in his coworkers face
you had lowered your tips to five dollars, but it was still pretty hefty
and now itâs a weekend stop for you
dmitry always works saturdays, and you always manage to see him
and he thanks you for your tips, and is careful to be sweet and not overly flirty
and one time one of your roommates comes with you and gags because âyouâre obviously flirting with each other, (n/n)!âÂ
and dmitry hears this and winks at you
and one day you walk into the coffee shop in the middle of the work week, on a day off, and dmitry is there, but not behind the counter
and he looks good
and damnit if you donât hear all of the snarky comments from your roommates coming to haunt you
and then he sees you
âlet me buy you a coffee.â
âare you sure?â
âi can spare a few dollars... someone keeps tipping me really well.â
âwell, they must really like youâ
âyou think?â
âi know so.â
âthatâs good then, because i really like them, too.â
and you laugh
âyouâre smooth, dmitry.â
âso iâve been told.â
AND FLUFF ENSUES.
