ANYWAY. I am seriously missing my alien boys, this dude in particular because Eclipse is hands down my favorite (though I also dearly love Esari/Sun and Emoris/Moon, my precious babs <3). It was really fun drawing him again and I look forward to drawing lots more now that I've seemingly beaten my art block! *KNOCKS ON WOOD*

To absolutely no one's surprise this was supposed to be a simple doodle inbetween ArtFight attacks and I got carried away. Again. As per usual. But I had fun trying out some new things!

Is it perfect? No. Are there mistakes and could I have done things better? Absolutely. Do I care? Not one bit because I've been squinting at this all day and I'm calling it DONE lmao.

The background is a screenshot I took in one of the hallways of my freighter in No Man's Sky, heavily edited and modified afterwards.

The little shitty looking sign up above actually reads <<< TO BRIDGE because I decided I needed a font to go with their language seeing as I went through all the trouble of creating one.

Except there's no way I'm also gonna create a proper font so this is a free to use one from Blambot that I liked the look of. At least this lets me actually write stuff down in their language using 'their' alphabet. It works!

Well at first they might not think much about it at all, purely because Reader is the first human they've ever seen. For all they know that's just how it is. But sooner or later they will see pictures/videos of other human and note that Reader looks different, and ask out of curiosity why that is.

They definitely wouldn't see it as something ugly or strange, because it isn't.

...Actually, and this is my brain Doing The Thing, maybe they've seen something similar to vitiligo before among their own species! I'd say it's totally possible for Nebuterrans to have vitiligo marks. I imagine it would look very pretty on them actually, so maybe they would even see it as something truly special, and the fact that it's also something that exists among humans, as evidenced by Reader, a similarity between two completely different species, would fascinate them to no end.

As you might guess from the above honorific and title, Eclipse is the leader of his people, comparable to a king. He's also Sun and Moon's oldest sibling and spends most of his time on the Capital Ship patrolling their homeworld and keeping it and the people safe from those who would do harm.

Sun and Moon spend most of their time on-planet as his eyes and ears, because Eclipse is kept so busy most of the time. But the three of them are very close and take every chance they can get to spend time together.

So I've answered this before but I'm terrible with numbers (hello discalculia my old friend) and also feet and inches will never make sense to me even with a converter.

So I tossed together a quick height chart! The y/n is from my other AU but I draw them all the same anyway.

Please have mercy on the poor guards forced to listen to the incoherent gibberish of this weird little alien 😂 They'll be begging Eclipse for a different position before long.

With Moon being Moon ... Would he reprimand us for staying up too late and try to, politely, get us to go to bed?

You know what, yeah he would!

We've taken care of him when he needed even though we were all strangers, so in return once he's gotten to know us and learned to trust us, he would try to repay the favor by trying to take care of us in return, including making sure we get enough rest for his liking.

You remember correctly!

Eclipse treasures what free time he gets... while at the same time mentally berating himself because he feels his time is better spent working to protect his people. A serious case of "If I'm not sleeping I should be working" mindset, this dude is a total workaholic.

But yes. When he does have time for himself he actually prefers to retreat to the quiet of his personal quarters, since he's always surrounded by members of the council and the army and rarely gets a moment of peace and quiet.

The only ones who are allowed to come and go during those moments are Sun and Moon, he also really enjoys just spending time with them, talking about mundane every day life stuff, since that's not something he gets to experience.

Sometimes he and his brothers sneak out, grab a scouting ship and leave the Capital city to a favorite lake to spend some time there, but this only happens on rare occasions. Eclipse is not comfortable being away for too long in case his presence is required during a sudden emergency or something. It takes some serious convincing from Sun and Moon to get him to come with them. But when they do... I bet it's so nice to see him wind down and truly relax, to not be so weighed down by all the burdens he's carrying even if only for a moment.

There's a weird error where the end notes of the first chapter appear under the second chapter and I can't seem to fix it. I don't know why it's happening but it's really annoying. Maybe it's a site glitch and it will fix itself, I dunno. Fixed.
