What do you think happen to K rool during the events of DKC Returns and DKC Tropical Freeze?
I have a headcanon on why K. Rool is absent from last DK games: Living still in his Mobile Island Fortress and after many defeats he get, King K. Rool decided to observe discretly from very afar the Family Kong, in order to find their potential weak points and another way to eleminate them. During years, he also updated as he can his Mobile Island with better technology.
Now I really didn't think about DKC Returns series, but after checking what is happening, here's my theories on what I could imagine for K. Rool in:
During the first DKC Returns, the volcano of the DK Island woke up... imagine if it's K. Rool and his Kremling Krew who activated the volcano?! Without being seen by the Kongs and with their machines, kremlings would trigger the volcano UNDER the island. Now, would K. Rool know that there is a mysterious tribe which could hypnotize to get bananas?? I dunno but it could be funny and clearer if K. Rool knew well the story of DK Island and their secrets...
In DKC Tropical Freeze, snowmads are really similar to kremlings... This is why I imagine that these two crews are in competition without a doubt. Lord Fredrik and (Kommander) K. Rool may met each other years ago on the sea and did battleship a few times. And after they met again, the snowmad king decided to attack the Kongs and conquer the DK Island so Lord Fredrik would "beat" K. Rool by this way ("if you can't fight for good these pathetic apes, I will do."). But K. Rool, thinking he is stronger that all snowmads, would know that DK and his family could beat Lord Fredrik and his people. So he let snowmads doing their jobs... and we can see how it's happened ("Ah! ' told you that you would be dethroned in no time!")
