“It was crazy for @koolboblove to hear me say, “Meeting you is like meeting Michael Jordan, you’re my idol.” I meant that s*** too. In 94 I was I high school & he was the only dude w/the similar background as me that was successful in hip-hop. I would have never gotten a writing internship at Stress Magazine, NYC if I didn't aspire to be like Bobbito the Barber bka Dj Cucumber Slice. He was the host of the greatest hip-hop radio show ever, The Stretch Armstrong Show @stretchandbobbito 👁 He’s the champion of self-discovery. A fellow Renaissance man, so I admired his path. Countless amounts of achievements. He moved the culture. He is always involved in multiple cool projects from video games to designing sneakers. He influenced my slang, taught me how to enjoy the journey of life, to stay creative, to never stop evolving, uniquely cop kicks, & to just be you. I watched his new film about his amazing life & teared up multiple times. 👁 We had crazy similarities. We both had partying Fathers w/alcohol issues. We both were unsupervised & in the street at a young age. We are both are light skinned neutral race looking inner city Puerto Ricans. We didn't speak Spanish & we were shunned by our peers for appearance & positivity. We had to earn respect through sports & fighting. 👁 This is a video of us @thestudancelab remembering the time I called up the show.
