Hey. So if a person needed comically large spikes what would they ask for at the hardware store? I tried making them out of soda cans and it wasn't panning out but I figured there might be some kind of spike a person would put into the ground or something like that which could be repurposed but I don't know where to start in that line of questioning and thought you might. For context I'm a drag queen who styles looks after women in the hard core scene (I pull from goths, punks, emos, scene queens, and metalheads) and I'm trying to make a huge metal mohawk for a pageant. I might be barking up the wrong tree because obviously the average punk is not gonna be wearing the size I want but you seem like you know diy fashion so I figured maybe I'd ask.
Honest, Im not sure ypure gonna be able to find exactly what youre looking for. The best I can think is base spikes that are used to hold things down, but usually they arent larger than 6ish inches and still semi-cone shaped.
THAT BEING SAID, I’d go to a craft store and get some foam cones, then coat them in modpodge or some type of paste to fill in the pores, and spray paint them with metallic paint. Probably gonna end up cheaper than base spikes this way anyways and you’ll have more size options.
