she’s  taking  too  long  and  speaking  so  softly,  as  if  she  is  dealing  with  a  beast  that  needs  TAMING.  to  him,  the  colouring  of  her  tone  severs  his  skin  as  if  she  has  a  SCALPEL  in  place  of  a  tongue  --  when  she  speaks  it  does  nothing  but  exasperate  his  the  gnawing  in  his  stomach,  bulldog  clamps  on  shredded  satin.  backside  leans  further  into  the  sterile  seat  beneath  him,  and,  FELINE  in  his  passage,  arms  STRETCH  above  the  slight  curve  of  bare  shoulders.    (  it’s  all  too  clean  /  all  too  EMPTY.  he  feels  as  if  his  rot  sullies  the  entire  wing  as  tongue    DIPPED  IN  BANE    permeates  the  walls.   )     ❛  just  do  it,  dr  ziegler.  i  can  always  take  a  little  more  pain.  ❜

               ‘ YOU LIKIN’ TO TRAVEL ?  ‘   there’s a hand propping chin up ,  eyes  bright with interest  as he speaks .  someone distant ,  someone who knows  MORE THAN HE  about the world , what isn’t there to find curiosity in ?  something to better himself ,  perhaps .  widen views and get him out of this place .     ‘ tell me ‘bout it ,  yeah ? ‘

hana’s voice wavers. eyes warily flick across the unnaturally clean walls around her. the stark white of the sheets she sits on is stained with dirt, one hand with clenched fingers outlined from holding tightly to the material, the other gliding lightly across the skin of her bruising arm. hana frowns at the thought of the needle piercing her arm as she stares silently above her. the single rectangular light on the ceiling, flickering ever so slightly, makes her uneasy   —   as does the doctor sitting silently across from her.

           THE  GRAVE  had  been  unkind.  he  had  been  wrenched  from  the  confines  of  the  dirt  &  the  infinite  bliss  of  sleep.  had  her  very  work  &  research  thrumming  through  his  system  like  a  tangible  signature  etched  in  bone  &  cinder  dust.  the  collapsing  of  existence  forced  to  exist  because  gabriel  reyes’  life  was  not  his  own  &  he  was  now  beholden  to  another’s  desperate  plea  for  him  to  continue  one.  instability  was  a  far  softer  word  for  what  he  was.  for  what  he  became  as  a  result  of  her  own  hubris  &  selfishness.  once  golden  respect  rotted  away  to  seething,  baseless  rage.  reaper  drew  up  from  the  shadows,  form  building  from  mist  &  intangibility  until  he  stood  there  breathing  &  eyes  aglow  with  scarlet  retribution  (  *  revenant  ).   ❛              hello  doctor  faust.   ❜
