AT  AN  INFINITELY  SLOW  PACE  does  he  begin  to  realise  he  misspoke;  his  understanding  of  those  beyond  him  and  his  human  contemplation  is  limited  to  what  he  knows,  and  what  he’s  yet  to  understand.  he  breathes,  trailing  into  a  soft  huff  of  laughter.

❝  i  don’t  know.  ❞  do  they  dream,  he  wonders  ?  do  they  understand  the  conscience  of  humanity  and  its  complexities  ?  he  gives  a  thoughtful  hum.  ❝  that’s  probably  true.  i  don’t  know  why  i  said  that.  ❞  he  doesn’t  feel  an  inkling  of  embarrassment  for  so  juvenile  a  musing.  ❝  then  why  do  they  allow  evil  to  exist  ?  ❞
