Paradigm claimed that his research scores rival the power of the six forbidden magics. Do you think that we'll see him put them into effect?
Hmmm⌠hard to say.
Weâve already talked about the âDivine Stepsâ before, but there isnât much in the way of an explanation as to how powerful they potentially are.
Basically what that means is, is that they are perhaps even more dangerous than the 6 spells were as a detrimental effect on their users in the form of a âcurseâ.
The easiest answer to this question is, if you stay in the Backyard long enough, you could potentially bend and shape the world any way you wanted⌠but at a hefty (and somewhat unpredictable) cost.
Backyard Residents (as we understand them) do not have a sense of âorganizationâ or âstructureâ when they are born (as it is akin to having a blank slate). Â As the âOriginalâ once said when he discovered the Backyard: âIt is a Chaos the likes of which has never (before) been seen.â
The Backyard itself contains several truths or⌠another way of putting it ârulesâ put in place that define this very worldâs existence.
Maybe not right away, but enough time spent in the Backyard would allow someone to bend and tweak those rules to their benefit in any way they wanted, like an ersatz âDebug Modeâ for reality, but the result might also affect the person doing the tweaking.
Whether that results in good or bad effects isnât something we may wish to know or were even meant to know.
Iâll give you an existing example: Izuna is a Backyard resident⌠yet his existence has a rather twisted flaw, despite bearing the appearance of a humanoid fox: He has a complex and distorted dialect.
In the world we live in, something like a dialect is a regional concept that is applied through observation of the way people speak from region to region⌠a lingo or culture of sorts.  If you live in Region A, you know how to speak like someone from Region AâŚ. if you live in Region B, you can speak like those people can as wellâŚ
But what happens when you live in Region A, and you suddenly have the ability to speak in a dialect from regions C, D, E, F, and G and have never been to those places before in your life?
And what happens when your dialect alternates (mid-sentence mind youâŚ) between A through G (and maybe even more dialects and languages youâve never heard before in your life)?
This is one of the chaotic âproblemsâ a Backyard Resident can potentially have when exposed to the Backyard. Â Being exposed to a broad and dense amount of data from all over the world and not being able to âsort through itâ or âdecompress itâ might alter a personâs soul completely, if not âcrushâ/âeraseâ/âresetâ it outright.
Previously, the main reason Dr. Paradgim used his scores in the first place was to serve as a mere âreferenceâ or âstarting pointâ on how to unseal Ky and undo the brainwash.
Just as files can be compressed and reiterated in to non-intelligible data, so too can MagicâŚ, though that in and of itself isnât something we fully understand yet.  Paradigm had to decode what he understood from the Score, find the section that was the âphaseâ or âreferenceâ related to the spells he wanted to undo, and then treat those as a separate spell⌠instead of a whole massive chunk of grimoire spells pressed together.
Anyway, itâs not something we fully understand yet⌠so for now, weâll have to just wait for more information.
