In the initial startup of the move, he plants his blade in to the ground, almost like setting up a temporary domain space.

As we have seen previously, Nagoriyuki’s Gashadokuro blade “bleeds red” when his Blood Rage is fully active.

Since we already know the blade can transform to varying lengths, it’s also possible that the “blood” unleashed by the sword is a kind of cursed blood, or perhaps a binding ritual that synchronizes with Nagoriyuki’s “vampiric blood”, making him one with the sword in a kind of symbiotic relationship.

A “wave” of blood gushes out from the sword across the ground, which is likely the means that Nagoriyuki establishes this domain space.

In other words, it is very possible that any living beings in contact with the sword’s blood can feed Nagoriyuki with a certain amount of life force, even if it’s temporary.

What happens next depends on Nagoriyuki’s actions, as the mechanics of the skill have established. But it is in this way that Nagoriyuki can either “draw enough life essence” to either enhance his blade for a time, or to curb the current amount of blood lust he and his sword crave.

And while this is still a working theory and speculation, it is not without evidence from other sources of Vampire Lore:

Most Vampires establish a domain within their castles, usually with a blood contract that binds the castle to its master. In exchange, the castle itself is given blood to feed on to continue and affirm the contract it has with the Vampires. (And this is also very similar to how a Master Ghost is an extension of a Master’s Soul in GG2 Overture terminology, since the Master Ghost and Servants are an extension of their summoner’s very soul.)

In addition, this blood effectively creates a space of influence throughout the Castle that a Vampire is given complete control over: whether it’s being able to sense intruders, change the castle’s form or shape like a maze or labyrinth, or even manifest creatures and minions from the castle to serve the Vampire Lord.

To a large degree, anything the Vampire’s blood makes contact with falls under their influence, or at the very least becomes “cursed”.

Vampire Curses don’t necessarily put a detriment on the Vampire themselves, but act more as a Boon or Buff to the Vampire when they are inside their own turf or space of influence.

You could also say that this blood also determines what is or is not “one” with the Vampire. As a Vampire’s blood is the source and reason why Ghouls, Revenants, and Thralls are created as slaves to a Vampire, if not becoming lesser Vampires themselves.

Of course, it is very possible the Katana’s blood is very different and functions differently too.

One of the major secrets behind Castle Dracula in Castlevania lore itself is that the entire architecture of the castle was established from the power of Chaos, and is comprised of both living and undead flesh as well as blood at its very core. In fact the boss known as “Legion” serves as a massive “sphere” of bodies and undead corpses and is in fact the Castle’s true “body”.

Back on topic, when a Vampire establishes a domain space, they can use that space to “feed” on anything within that space, sometimes without even touching whatever was the victim!

The Blue Aura, along with the massive shadow that covers Nagoriyuki’s appearance, implies that his power has been activated to a larger degree.

In Nagoriyuki’s Arcade story, this very “shadow” can even go berserk of its own will, and Nagoriyuki had to fight it by himself before! Zato=ONE even helps him defeat this Shadow, which is basically a larger fragment of his darkened soul made manifest, and also an embodiment of his lust for blood.

Slayer’s shadow is very Red, but also very Black as well!

Yukimoyoi translates to “Impending Snow” or “Threatening to Snow”, but in terms of the metaphor, Snowfall casts a paling over the landscape: White Skies, Grey Atmosphere, similar to a sudden change in climate when it is about to snow.

So in summary, Nagoriyuki strengthens his blade by expanding its blood influence, and this in turn lessens his blood cravings!

So far, Axl Low only implied that events in the Timeline had changed, and knowing him, he probably wants to adjust anything as little as possible.

But, there’s no doubt she’s Dizzy and Ky’s second child, so the time will come when Future Unika is born as an “egg”.

There’s several outcomes to this, but here are the main possibilities:

First Outcome: Closed Timeline Unika fades from existence quietly, with the birth of Newborn Unika, something everyone including Sin might just have to come to terms with (or perhaps Axl Low might even erase their memories, like I-No once did).

Second Outcome: Unika asserts her existence in this timeline, not by replacing her future self, but by somehow becoming a different Unika, even changing her entire identity.

Third Outcome: Something totally unexpected happens and a secondary Timeline is stable enough to permit this Unika to continue existing. Speculation but, both Happy Chaos and Lucy might be involved.

Regardless, two identical persons in the same timeline either do not exist for very long due to causal factors, or because one asserts or usurps the other, or because they left the timeline for a branching one.

More specifically how it devalues the ghosty occult stuff in Guilty Gear?

It's really strange for strive to bring up the idea of ghosts not being posthumous humans and then never bring it up.

Could this tie-in to the thing in Happy Chaos's arcade mode about Vampires and Werewolves being weird multiversal fixtures? Just since vampires, Werewolves and ghosts are all in the same ballpark generally.

I’ve actually discussed a lot of unusual phenomena that has occurred in Guilty Gear’s universe, much of which has not been Scientifically categorized or studied.

Areas like the 12 Dimensional Flux Observatory, where Weather Patterns defy natural Seasonal Conditions, or places like the Hell Crevice floating islands (Testament’s GGX stage), and the crumbling Council of Three with its twisted castle spires curling in to a tidal wave of distortion and blood red pools, not to mention the disturbing cube portals and grinning dolls in A Happy Family stage.

The occult tends to rationalize the idea that some supernatural things have no logical explanations, and should remain as such: a grand mystery forever unsolved.

But Science by its very nature must seek out a reason these phenomena exist, even if that reason may not make immediate sense.

This all goes back to the Zappa Scale and the Information Flare phenomenon.

Information Flares are best described as an overflow of dense Magic Information leaking from the Backyard… a hole, more or less, that changes the very logic and nature of most physical objects or organic matter.

Just like with Kum Haehyun’s Tuning technique, normally it is not possible to expand the properties of a subject or object beyond their natural state or limits.

Normally, that is.

Zappa once posited that if Spirits on a higher plane even exist, why would they interfere with mere humans?

But this also ties in to what we currently know about Youkai, more commonly described in Guilty Gear as Demihumans.

Demihumans, at least from Happy Chaos’ theoretical perspective, must Downconvert themselves to even remotely exist on the same dimensional plane as Humans do.

Of course we know that Vampires exist, of course we know Foci exist as well, Izuna’s Ghostly Tribe exists on the border of the Backyard: Yomotsuhirasaka… the “slope to Yomi” or, put another way, the Interstice path to an Underworld.

We also know of the Nightmare Theater… Bedman’s Dreamlike Reality, but Bedman (Romeo) once revealed to Axl Low that all Human Dreams are interconnected with the Backyard itself. A perpetual connection to a dense world of information defining our existence. Human willpower can influence the very stability and structure of the Backyard!

The sickness that was the Crusades, the Universal Will, created by a single human. The living Paradox Irregularities Axl Low and I-No, with the power to influence Time itself.

Even folklore and urban legends have deep ties to the very origins of what we call the Supernatural. The Monster under the Bed or in the Closet isn’t just a Story to scare us: it IS THE STORY itself. The Monster is the Story. Folklore and Tales made reality simply BECAUSE Humans believed so strongly that they existed!

But even Foci have minds of their own: Demons bound by a Contract forged by Human expectations, illogical, unscientific, paradoxical or otherwise!

Then of course there are the Humans that FELL in to the Backyard.

Normally that dense data would crush anything organic to dust and ash, like the victims of Babylon.

But some who managed to enter that realm may cease to be considered human when they leave!

When Baiken courageously stepped in to Delilah’s Absolute Sphere, exactly why didn’t she die? Was she altered to begin with? Or was it an actualization of Baiken’s will?

More frightening still, is the implication that a supernatural phenomenon can still occur when the Zappa Scale Coefficient is at its lowest: an Information Flare distortion that expands at a non-observable level, and the most dangerous type of Information Flare.

An invisible leak distorting the nature of the world. A hole none can see that might one day cause disaster!

Or, perhaps it’s more accurate to say that the Zappa Scale needs more information to become more accurate for measurement.

Perhaps it is still true that humans still barely understand the afterlife, but someone like Zato returning from Death as a “perfectly tuned” (in Haehyun’s words) emotionless “blank slate” must be some kind of hint at what Humanity faces beyond the paling.

XTwitter User Misinput made an interesting observation about Unika recently. Red eyes ARE indicative of Gear conversion (which is strange to consider, since Unika herself hates Gearkind).

Nerville’s a U.S. Senator who is somehow involved with Foreign Diplomacy (hence why he’s even IN Illyria, which is centered in former Italy and Northern Europe).

Crow actually had something of a notoriously bad reputation within the Postwar Administration Bureau, and the fact Millia Rage almost NEVER mentions him suggests he got ousted for his inhumane experiments. Even Venom confronted him over things he did.

I honestly believe Crow Kuruwaba was part of the “dirty laundry” Illyria threw out when they shifted their policies in lieu with removing the old Conclave and Ariels from office. A lot of that was done by King Leo and King Daryl most likely. Even Robo Ky hated Crow, and that says a lot!

Still, given that this IS Dizzy being targeted, I don’t think Crow is not NOT Involved. He might even be working under Nerville and Unika behind the scenes for all we know, but it’s still speculation.

There is also some theories that Crow is actually an alias that Happy Chaos used when borrowing Asuka’s “That Man” alias to do dubious things. We still don’t know for sure though.

Given the United States internal security being observed by Goldlewis Dickinson, I don’t think they would ever let someone like Crow Kuruwaba get elected Senator, much less NOT keep tabs on someone questionable like himself!

But also keep in mind that back when Erica Bartholomew was still in the Oval Office as a President, many U.S. Senators were very corrupt and being manipulated by the Assassins Organization from the Shadows (circa Butterfly and Her Gale), so Nerville might be a remnant of those individuals that weren’t arrested by Ky back then.

Also keep in mind that back then the Assassins were basically just hired thugs doing the Corrupt Conclave’s bidding, which Venom loathed to be a part of (which is why he didn’t kill Erica’s Matron/Adopted Mother).

Bringing back Judgement would be kinda nuts, but if Zato can come back from the dead due to the Conclave, so can Raymond, I guess...

Though I'd probably think Judgement itself would be more of a "artificial project" (like Cell Max in Dragonball Super) from some mad scientist who wanted to recreate Raymond's Demihuman experiment.

Though it is clear enough that Happy Chaos was "tampering" with Ariels' Mental state at the time she was manipulating Bedman... a lot of what went on between Ariels and Bedman still remains somewhat unclear.

Prior to Xrd's earliest events, it was suggested that "someone" was responsible for converting Romeo's Bed in to the Deadly Bedframe we currently know (only for Romeo to modify it to better suit his powers sometime later).

This doesn't necessarily apply to the alliance Bedman made with Ariels when he was still living in the Backyard, not to mention that much of this information may or may not be something Ramlethal Valentine had access to, while she was working under Ariels.

Prior to all of this, it was established that Romeo and Delilah were born with Brains that were far too enhanced to function in the physical world... but, see, there's a mystery behind that too.

Humans don't normally get born in this world with the brain of an overclocked supercomputer, nor do they get screwed on to the Beds they sleep on.

Whether they were simply born with a sad fate, or whether Happy Chaos somehow "tampered" with them... regardless of what is the truth, Chaos STILL had a hand in Bedman's death and Delilah's suffering.

Even now, beyond Bedman's supposed "death", Happy Chaos seems to want to take advantage of Bedman's existence as a potential Demihuman experiment, and Chaos does not treat Demihumans well, as we've learned all too well.

And while Delilah might not be fully aware of that fact... she is at the least intuitively aware of Happy Chaos' involvement and actions (which have also affected Baiken's life as well, among many others).

Whether Bedman was the result of some heinous P.W.A.B. experiment brought about by Ariels, or whether it was Happy Chaos' idea all along, or he just simply became "inspired" to do something to Bedman and his sister... regardless... regardless of what is the TRUTH of these events:

Happy Chaos still has much to answer for, whether it's the darkness and chaos of the Crusades... or for disrupting the Peace of the modern era and threatening peoples' lives (if not killing them outright).

Bedman, for all his advanced intellect, prioritized protecting his sister above all else... so I wouldn't be surprised if he had a contingency plan in mind set aside precisely for dealing with someone like Happy Chaos...

We're excluding May, Johnny and Dizzy for obvious reasons and Janis since she's just a regular cat.

Given they are air pirates, and have tangled with the likes of the Assassins organization and P.W.A.B., they DO actually have some combat abilities, and it is also likely Johnny taught them self-defense techniques as well (though probably nothing overly complicated).

Augus in particular uses a small short sword and grappling techniques, based on her muscle tone. Sephy normally uses her deck brush to sweep, but it can just as easily be used as a combat stave. July is muscular and doesn’t use a weapon, so she probably knows martial arts of a kind.

They’ve probably also sparred with May on many an occasion as well, though May is physically stronger than most of the crew with exception to Johnny.
