Hi there! A black pigeon appeared at my window around late afternoon and won't be shooed away. I just checked again, five hours later and it's still perched in the exact same place. This is very unusual for the pigeons in my area, they usually hide out in the trees with their flock... is this an omen? I've also never seen a black pigeon before.

If none of these things are true, this is not likely to be an omen.
Use divination to ask what the pigeon meant. Use a system which includes nothing/null/nonsense answers. If you receive a "nothing" answer, the pigeon wasn't an omen.
Even if you received an answer otherwise, it's wise to remain cautious about what you accept as an omen. It's easy to go overboard.
