George Washington’s winter encampment at Valley Forge (December 1777–June 1778) was a crucial, transformative turning point in the American Revolution. While 11,000 soldiers endured harsh conditions, starvation, and disease 20 miles from British-occupied Philadelphia, they emerged as a disciplined, trained fighting force, fostering national unity.
