As I said in the previous post the Titan and Belos in my au have...an interesting dynamic. They met after Caleb's death in Eclipse Lake and when Belos fully joined the Titan trappers. How I describe the first meeting is well....belos tries to murder Titanitos who later introduces himself as Val'rius

Since Titanitos is well...essentially god in the Boiling Isles (being the literal soil they are standing on) he easily subued Belos but didn't punish him like...throwing him a few yards away to break bones. No, again he's been arching the brothers ever since they arrived in the isles. He saw this as an opportunity to achieve his own goals and curiosities

That being to get rid of the Titan Trappers who's been getting rid of all his priests.

In the lore I've written for this au, religion is more emphasized but more so the deities who are being worshipped.

Titatinism (worship of Titanitos) is the main and dominant one and the rising second religion at the time was The Grand Hunt (worship of the Grand Hunstman aka the Collector replacement here in...a sense)

Titanitos being millennium old deity who long since ascended from mortality prioritizes his worshippers and his priests (his priests were the current living titans at the time who spread his gospel through out the isles)

He figured out that the culprits behind the lost of his followers and priest were those following The Hunt thus sought out a way to get rid of them. His priests were all pacifist at best. It's in their oath as priests to never harm witches and demons and unfortunately...the Trappers were also witches and demons who are blinded by ambition to reach the stars

But he saw the opportunity to get rid of them after watching the Wittebane Brothers fight. No priest, witch, or demon, fought as violently as them who's arguments escalated THAT badly. Ot was human nature to be this...grumsome...and it was the perfect executioner he needed to carry out his task

Of course, humans such as young Philip were also....untrusting, who's emotions were so...Interestingly complicated over something so simple.....thus he dawned the name Val'rius and projected a temporary mortal form unto his own lands to gain the trust of Philip.

They got close over time. A sort of enemies to friends to one sided lovers I'd say. It's the silly dynamic of belos trying to murder val'rius, Val out wilting him that leaves pip to blue screen, a calm and civilized conversation (close to it) then follows

It goes on like this till Philip skips the murder part and just wants to hang out with Val'rius.

"I must say human....you have gone docile over the last few weeks....dare I ask you have finally informed your...acquaintances about our meetings?"

"W-wha?- NO of course not- not that I care so much....informing Bill is near impossible when he's too busy rambling about the Hunstman and stars and-"

"Or....you are simply hesitating....may I presume...it's due to the fact you have started enjoying our meetings?-"

"NO! DAMN MUTT PUTTING WORDS UNTO MY TONGUE! I SHOU-"

"-should slice my throat clean?"

It's a real fun dynamic between the two where Val isn't exactly threatened by the short stack who tries to look threatening. But then again said short stack hasn't ever found someone in so long where he can just...talk about the weird things he's repressed. Only Caleb and somewhat Evelyn ever saw that side.

Somehow his enemy(?) Will become the third

Later in the present, the Emperor is the Head of Titanitos' priests alongside his covenheads. Having been the person who successfully replaced all the murdered priests with his own. He hopes it will...get Titanitos' attention...

That perhaps someday Val'rius will forgive him for what he's done

Essentially in the Distant AU (see in my pinned post for the ao3 link) Belos is...a morally grey ruler of the isles but he acts more like a Pope in a sense and has those under him (The Coven Heads) do most of the work as his job is communing with the Titan

The Titan here isn't Papa Titan (Papa Titan is instead his own separate character that appears in a prequel fic I'm planning to do (?)) Instead the one shown here is Titanitos, the Ancient Titan who rose to divinity several millennium ago.

If you saw my other post about the distan au in my blog, Caleb and Philip went to the boiling isles together where Philip (12) actually grew up here and learned to love the isles for all its weirdness. Since they arrived, Titanitos kept an eye on the two humans being intrigued by the discovery another world existed and these weak powerless humans somehow survived with a social outcast (Evelyn in my lore and my thought on how to make her interesting, I had her be one hell of a weirdo even for the isles)

Now older, Philip didn't remember much of what happened to him in Gravesfield (a repressed memory that Caleb nor Evelyn want Philip to remember) but he did remember the good times. So he embarked on a journey to look for a way back home which...led to some distress from Caleb not wanting to go back to the human realm and the fact Philip was involving himself with weird groups he claims are his "friends"

One of them especially didn't sit well with Caleb, that being Bill (the group Philip was involved with is indeed the Titan Trappers who have a lot changed to their story in this au)

All this time, Titanitos kept watch of the pair and even during the accident at Eclipse Lake.

That's where he showed himself to Philip. Introduced himself as no foe as during this time Philip was coping with the loss of his brother by fully embracing the ideals of the Titan Trappers wanting to feel like he belonged or else the guilt will plague him

He used a mortal name that the local titans use. Val'rius

Who would have thought that over time, Philip whom detested Titans as it's their blood that killed his brother at least that's what his friends say

But again....over time he related to this Titan. He almost forgotten his curiosity of the world, so blinded in purging the isles of Titans....

Yet in the end, what was truly felt between them was nothing short of curiosity for the Sovereign Titan
