Nothing I do is natural, realistic, organic or accidental. I'm never spontaneous, I'm completely premeditated.

Qui probe dissimulare scit, Dissimilem quasi esse. Who knows how to dissimulate honestly is, so to speak, “dissimilar.”

Maurice Blanchot, Le Livre à venir, Gallimard, 1959
The Devil Is in the Denial
The religious, who possess only tacit knowledge of the pragmatic truths inhering in religion, should be forgiven their occasional intellectual backwardness, for the same reason we forgive the idiocy of someone who recently suffered brain damage in a car accident. The religious today are still in a state of cognitive whiplash from the scientific revolution.
A great deal of what the devout feel…

Dissimulation was a child when he had his soul sold to John Doe, due to his mother.
As he lived in slums, his family lived in misery, his mother thought that if he left the house somehow, there would be more money and food left for her, it was the survival of the fittest. Already in John's possession, Diss now had his soul auctioned off, along with 5 other children.
One of them was Anastasia, who would soon become a very important person to him.
Now all sold to a man called "Akuma" by many, they had parts and areas of their bodies replaced with mechanical parts, with a skeleton like appearance.
With many years of training, Dissimulation and his small gang now served as assassins for hire, the money they received, a high amount, went to Akuma, this only making him even richer.
But after many years, now an adult and married, Akuma already dead, Diss just wants a quiet life, but it looks like his dream won't come true anytime soon.
