Description
The lovelorn Cardenio had taken to the mountains stricken with grief because of his unrequited passion for the beautiful Lucinda. Hayman here illustrates the moment when Quixote is enraged by Cardenio’s slanderous remarks about Queen Madamisa whilst Sancho and the goat herd look on in astonishment.
