âBrothers, huh? Are they all as flamboyant as you?â Robert asks, releasing an amused huff.
âÂĄBastardo! You dare think theyâre like me? Iâm the coolest, raddest, handsomest turtle in the fam. Believe me,â Leo claims, then holds out his fingers to point at one. âRaphâs cool but heâs tanky cool. Just a big olâ lovebug thatâs like a lapdog the size of a horse that doesnât know heâs too big to be a lapdog. âCept, he knows heâs big so heâs just a big, cuddly dog.â

Blonde Blazer flips to the next file, spreading out the pages of the next hero. âNow this one,â she begins with a newfound confidence, âI know wonât give you much trouble.â
Leo picks up the first page of the heroâs profile and leans over slightly to share with Robert as Blonde Blazer explains.
âHe goes by Red Stripes. He was a former vigilante whom the streets called âAchillesâ. He already has a âheroâ mentality, but his methods are on the extreme end. He tends to be the loner of the team but he gets the job done. His prosthetic arm is broken, Royd has a sneaking suspicion that the elbow joint is unaligned from the sound of it, but he refuses to get it fixed. Weâve found that the prosthetic tends to âstickâ, but fingers crossed it doesnât hinder his work.â
âSays here heâs a self loathing type⌠anything I should be worried about?â Robert asks as he points at a page from the spread.
Blonde Blazerâs expressions dims and her eyes flick to Leoâs. She shakes her head and answers in a slightly lowered tone, âIâll give you the details another time.â
Leo nods to show them he understands, but inside he knows heâs frowning. That suspicious feeling grows stronger, larger in his mind. Itâs definitely no coincidence that he is assigned with this team to shadow Robert. But he canât figure out why.

Leo tugs off his headphones to ask Robert, âWhy does he sound likeâ?â
Blonde Blazer quickly interrupts with a raised finger, resting her other elbow on the top edge of the cubicle, âLike famous voices in old movies?â
âYeah,â Leo squints at the screen when he asks, âWhy does âThe Fatherâ sound like the actual Godfather?â
Blonde Blazer laughs lightly as Robert takes off his headphones with a raised brow. He muses dryly, âIâm not exactly used to an Italian mafia boss demanding I buy delivery for his kids at home.â
Blonde Blazer snorts lightly at the joke then clears her throat, âWell, this is for safety purposes on Leoâs account. You two have voice modifications as well. Thatâs the only thing different, Robert. Everything is the same: assign heroes to dispatch, write reports, submit those reports, rally the team, the calls recorded for training purposes, and help turn these new heroes on the right path. I know you two can do it!â

Robert glances at Leo, concern etched on his face, then he asks, âIs this too much?â
Leo scoffs, his eyes drifting to another dispatcher pass by the cubicle with their stare way too obvious for even Robert to ignore. But he plays it off, ignoring it to respond, âPlease, kidnapping? Try alien possession on your brother.â
Robert frowns, âThatâs not something to brag aboutâactually, donât tell me more. Weâll talk about it later. Since youâre concerningly used to high-stress situations, what do you think we should do?â
Leo frowns, âIsnât there a thing on shows where you triangulate the location of the call?â
Robert snaps and points at Leo, âGood job.â
Immediately, he starts clicking things on the screen, even going so far as to hack into some kind of software that makes a small pin on the map that travels down the streets at an alarming speed. And following close behind are Blue Blurâs, Big Blueâs and Champâs pins.
âHey, Iâve sent you three the location of our subscriberâs phone. Big Blue, I need you to cut them off with Champ. Blue Blur, can youâ,â Robert orders, but Blue Blur interrupts.
âYeah, we got it. Why donât you send the kiddos out on a mission? Keep yourself busy, hm? We got this, bud.â
âBlue Blur, I need you to listen to meâ.â
âDonât overstep Robbie. Iâve got this.â
Suddenly, Blue Blurâs pin stops moving.
Robert curses under his breath and mumbles, âItâs like deja vuâŚâ
But surprisingly, Big Blueâs and Champâs pins appear a few blocks down from the rapidly travelling subscriber pin. Theyâve literally triangulated the subscriber, with the exception of Blue Blurâs pin that stopped moving.
Leo canât help but joke, âLooks like they want to impress you?â
Robert leans back with his hand running through his hair, âHa ha. Would be nice if that were the case.â Then he presses his mic closer to ask, âBlue Traveler, finished resting?â
âYeah, whatâs up,â the hero in question, responds casually. Thereâs the sound of slurping through a straw that obnoxiously makes itself known after he responds.
âIâm gonna need you on standby in case the others fuck this up,â Robert answers then glances at Leo to apologize, âSorry for the curse.â
But to both Leoâs and Robertâs surprise, Blue Traveler denies the order.
âNah, theyâve got it. You heard Blur. Heâs got it.â
Robert groans aloud, âThatâs not the point. You need some kind of contingency plan.â
âAnd Iâm telling you, theyâve got. It. I guarantee theyâve thought of all the contingency plans you could think of, and then some.â

Oh this was so fun hahaha! Dispatch is such an interesting story with such amusing characters! If only they hadnât disappointed me with the execution of the character interactions and personal character storylines⌠oh well! I enjoyed thinking of my peepaws in this scenario hahaha! Itâs funny how many of their crimes are canonical to their respective stories hehe

I wonât say whose favorite the readers are trying to garner, but I suppose I can share that favor wonât dictate huge changes within the story until the very end :)
By this I mean, your votes on the parts will dictate a small portion of the parts that follow but wonât change the overall story that is already written (when I get to finishing writing it hehe)
Similar to dispatch, your decisions wonât entirely be witnessed until your favor is calculated at the end :D
Gaining a lot of favor wonât guarantee a âgoodâ ending, and losing a lot of favor wonât guarantee a âbadâ ending :D because the endings arenât good or bad (in my opinion mwehehehe)
