A Second Friend, Part 5 (Angst War 2018)
@disneyphantomlover submitted: ((Sorry this took so darn long to do! But we’re now getting into the angst bits of this, so this should be interesting. Or at least saddening…))
Wes really hadn’t known what to expect. But Wally was not-so-subtly cowering behind him, and he was pretty sure that the janitor was holding one of his overall straps to keep him from running off. Which, admittedly, he probably would bolt if given the chance. The ink creature standing next to Shawn gave him the chills something fierce… It wasn’t even the fact it was dripping thick ink, or the twisted spine that stuck out, or the terrifying fact that he could see the outline of the creature’s bones that unsettled him. It didn’t help, but all that he could deal with.
It was the creature’s face that made his stomach drop like a rock in the lake. A look of utter joy and relief, with thin ink dribbling from the golden eyes, made the hairs on the back of his neck raise up like a cat’s. Wes couldn’t help feeling uncomfortable and sick at the sight, and he nearly stepped on Wally trying to take a step back. “Fuckin’- …The hell is that?”
Before either human could answer, the ink creature timidly spoke first. “Sammy Wes? Iss-is-is…Is tha’ you?”
Wes grimaced at the name, shaking his head. “No… I’m just Wes.” After a beat, he tried to whisper to Wally over his shoulder. “Why the HELL does that thing sound like you??”
Wally responded with his own harsh whisper of “I told ya Joey did a thing!” Honestly if this situation wasn’t so bizarre, Wes would’ve boxed him in the ear. Instead, the ink creature seemed to scowl and tried to take a few steps forward. Wes scurried back the same amount of steps, and ended up stepping on Wally’s feet and pushing him back.
“OW! Christ, don’t-”
“Then BACK UP, you dumbass!”
The ink creature stopped in its tracks, and the pseudo-scowl immediately hardened into a what he could only describe as a grimace. It tried wiping away the ink from its cheeks, though all that seemed to do was displace the ink once more. “Christ… Jus’-jus’ cuz I’m covered in ink d-d-d-don’t mean you gotta back away from me like a sssssspooked dog. The hell’s wrung-…WRONG with you, Lawrence?”
“My name ain’t Lawrence!” Wes barked out, starting to back into the banister for the stairs. He’d gladly book it out of here if that “thing” with Wally’s voice kept talking. The fact it seemed to think that he was Sammy of all people was almost laughable, but… It still unnerved him. Everything about this was unnerving.
He was grateful that Shawn had stepped in at this point. The Irishman had quickly stepped in front of the creature, quietly speaking in some kind of bouncy language. He couldn’t understand it, but he could recognize the calming tone at least. The thing with Wally’s voice seemed to relax slightly, replying in the same bouncy language before shuffling over to the work table. Once the ink creature’s head had turned away, Wes ran around the corner to get to the punch clock, dragging Wally with him. Speaking of the damn janitor…
He rounded on the baby-faced bastard, giving him a somewhat-deserved shove on the shoulders. “The hell was that??”
Wally scowled, quickly recovering and replying with “I TOLD ya, Joey did-”
“Not that you thick-head! Was that your doing?? Making it think I was Sammy or something?”
That got Wally to shut up for a total of 8 seconds before he shook his head and held up his hands. “No way. I didn’t tell him nothing!” The look on Wes’s face spoke volumes for his disbelief, prompting Wally to immediately made an “X” over his chest. “Really! Tha’ whole bit was news ta’ me.”
“Really?” Wes crossed his arms in front of his chest, instantly regretting he gave up a smoking break for this nonsense. “Because who in the hell would mistake me for Lawrence?? We look nothing alike, and we sure as hell don’t act alike.”
“That last part’s debatable…”
“Shut the hell up, Franks.”
————————————————–
“…Alllllright!” Joey smiled as he tucked a pencil behind his ear and brushed his hands on his vest. He had to admit, he was rather proud of this circle! Drawn perfectly, with just the right symbols at just the right angles. Three fresh candles, already burning brightly and ready for use. All that was left was the wallet….
Rolling back so he could stand up from his kneeling position, Joey nearly bounced over to his desk, snatching the wallet from the corner of his desk. He leaned over to set it down on the drawn circle, quietly speaking a chant as he kneeled again.
A moment passed before the flames on the candles grew in size. Small flames turned into fist-size bursts of fire, with the circle and its drawing fading away. Joey grinned, clapping his hands together before picking up the wallet. “Perfect.” Hopefully now, that creature he could only guess as Wally’s double would be a little calmer. Whatever was fouling up the man’s memory was temporarily removed, so he could straight answers out of the man. Including how to help… Or at least send him back. “Maybe now, things can get done around here.”
————————————————–
“-sleep on the job!”
“Oh, you’re one to talk, Mister Falls-Asleep-In-The Lift~”
“Franks, I swear to God-”
The budding fight between the intern and the janitor was immediately cut short by an inhuman hissing sound. The sound alone made both of them jump with how sudden it was. Then it was accompanied by Shawn yelling. Both of them tried to run to the workshop entrance, and had the toymaker run into them for their trouble. “JAYSUS C'RIST!”
Wes looked to the ink creature, still hunched over the desk. But something about it… Something was instantly more sinister. The hissing sound seemed to originate from it. As did black tendrils of dark ink that twisted around the walls and floor around it. It looked…in lack of a better term? Demonic.
“…. Drew.” The ink creature suddenly pushed away from the desk, pulling itself to its feet. One foot was twisted to such an angle it looked painful, and it took a moment for anyone to realize that the creature was now missing a hand. Wally’s voice came out in a snarl as it steadied itself, looking around the area he was in. Sure enough, the ink creature managed to lock eyes on the nervous trio in the workshop’s doorway. “Where’s. Joey?”
((haha oh shit that can’t be good, someone hide the old man before something Bad happens. ty for the fic!! <3))
Norman in Rosemary's Baby-sitter! Part 1
((I'm so so SOOO sorry this took me a long time to write. I was having a hard time coming up with something until this practically smacked me across the face. There will be a second part to this to make up for the time, but I hope you like it.))
It all started with a little jingle that day. An annoying one. At least, to the Projectionist, it was annoying.
I'm the Dancing Demon, Watch me twirl 'n hop 'n spin! I'm quick to give a smile-
No, no, no... He'd played those ones to death. Even with his limited vision, he could feel the little dents that decorated the sides of the reel. He gripped the reel, trying to pull it out from his head. He wanted a different one. One without that annoying song at the beginning. Almost half of the reels had it, and he hated it each time. So cheerful and annoying, it made the bulb in his projector burn even brighter. No, he determined. This time, he wanted a different one. Maybe he could be lucky and one of these reels in the closets didn't have that annoying song.
A low whir escaped his chest speaker, and he began trudging through his route. It was a simple route, going right, diagonal, then left. Like a Z, but not... Maybe a different letter. He only had the energy for this weird Z. Not the 3 that laid on its side. Maybe he would later... But not now.
...Why was he going through the weird Z?
I'm the Dancing Demon-
Oh yes. That was why.
He forced his legs to move, sloshing through thick ink. He made it to an opened closet, finding an unstained box of precious reels. Reaching into the box, he snagged another reel. This one wasn't as dented, but he couldn't remember why. Granted, he didn't remember a lot of things, but it was still a question he had to ask each and every time. His clumsy fingers became exact as the reel was attached and loaded, and he allowed the small film to play.
Oh, there was something playing in his vision? What was this?
A small melody played from his speaker, and he could see a black title card. "Bendy in Rosemary's Baby-sitter!"
He liked this one. Not sure why, but he did. This was a cute cartoon. It was a little easier to walk now, so he tried to force himself to move through this labyrinth. It wasn't much to move around, just a few train cars...
The cartoon played, and he watched it. It was easy. He could watch it as he walked. It was much easier than holding still and watching. He made a turn, and watched as Bendy in the cartoon was holding a little nondescript bundle. The bundle was wrapped in a light grey blanket, and he could imagine dark little curls peeking out from the face. ...Wonder why?
Another turn.
The little bundle in the cartoon was starting to cry. It was a high-pitched squeal, not unlike his own screams in this real world. The little animated Bendy looked startled, and was immediately looking to his left and right for something.
That cry was a hungry one. It needed a bottle.
...Huh. What a strange thought. It struck a surprising chord in his spine, and he almost copied the animated demon's own motions. That was a hungry cry, oh no, where was that bottle, it was on the table-
His light shuttered, and the cartoon continued. But he couldn't focus on it. Something else was "playing" in his mind...
"Moooom! I can't find Wendy's bottle!" Look to the left, look to the right, wince at the even louder cry. Another look to the left, and he found a glass bottle on top of a counter. "Never mind, I found it!" Run over, grab the bottle, tilt it and test it on a pale wrist. "Oh good, I don't have ta' warm it." A louder cry echoed in his head. "Hang on, I'm coming Wen-"
The second "movie" that had been playing cut out immediately. Now it was just the Bendy cartoon. The little devil darling had found a bottle, and was happily picking up the bundle.
....
Why was it hurting so much to watch this? It was just a cute cartoon. The bundle happily drank from the bottle, making happy cooing flute sounds. It was sweet... But his chest felt twice as heavy looking at this.
....
He trudged through the labyrinth, continuing to watch the cartoon. He had no idea why his chest was hurting. But that was okay. He forgot things quickly. It wouldn't hurt in a moment.
His moment of lucidity was interrupted then. He could see a strange figure running up stairs.
Figure.
Movement.
STOP IT. STOP THE MOVEMENT.
"HRUHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE-!!!"
