It has been 2 weeks since I fell at and dislocated my patella on my right leg and a got a bony fracture on my right elbow - both injuries on my dominant side... great.
And all I can think is, that I am so blessed to have a family that has looked after me every single step (more like one legged hobble on a crutch) of the way. From my sister being my right arm, my mother being my right leg (and hair stylist), and everyone else at home doing all they can to ensure I am comfortable, fed, and entertained! My Masi completing sessions of distance healing so I could finally relax enough to sleep comfortably. To my jaan sending me the cutest, chocolatiest get well soon cake 🥺🥰. Waheguru, I am so blessed to have received so much care, love, concern, prayers and well wishes from people in my life. And I am so grateful to be grateful!
I mean, don’t get me wrong, it hurt like a fucking bitch when it happened, and aftermath of this injury fucking sucks - I’ve torn my vastus medialis, torn my medial retinaculum, and tore my MCL which is the medial collateral ligament in the knee and can cause pain, swelling, and a lack of stability in the knee (check all three). And I have cracks and bruises on my knee bone... not to mention the bony fracture on my right elbow.
But I have learnt and re-learned love, patience and gratitude as I’ve re-learned walking, bending and stretching. I’ve formed new conceptions and completely changed old perceptions - all for the better of me, others and my injuries 😅
Still a while to go, but I am getting there! With a little help from my friends.. and a W H O L E lot of help from my family 🥰
Pictured below: the scrumptious chocolate cake received a few days after the injury and the infamous laughing / crying / manic / panic Am day of injury, not yet realising I had also broken my elbow bone.
