THE DIRECTATOR EPS WERE SO FUNNY SILLY TO ME I WISH WE GOT MORE :((

Episode 31 of Yo-kai Watch has the characters trapped inside the world/set of a ghost film director, and forced to act in his movie to get out. In the english dub, one of the director’s movies is said to be “Darknyan vs Supernyan”, the dub coming out the same year as “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice”.

Here’s the interesting part, Darknyan and Supernyan are actual yokais you can befriend in the games:

They are not counterparts however. Darknyan is from the second game (and first movie), and is an alter-ego of Hovernyan, a Kamen Rider parody:

Meanwhile, Supernyan is from the third game, and has his own Batman counterpart in the form of Kaped Komander:

A little bit of existential horror! Clodzilla is apparantly NOT actually a bad actor who died, but a yokai spawned from his abandoned costume that just..somehow remembers being that human even though he wasnt?? Like did this guy's soul just split into two or something? Is he a clone of him? Wtf would happen if the two of them met??? Like fuckin imagine how scary it would be to wake up eternally trapped in your costume, but then you see LITERALLY YOURSELF walking past and you open up your zipper to find nothing inside

Anyway, Directator has a lil montage of parodying various godzilla sequel names

Yaaay even the AD assistant dudes came back!! They seem rather off in this episode though, theyre not as animated actually doing stuff and instead are more like stock images filling space in the background. Not a single line of dialogue :(

I guess this is whats to be expected from Directator just being a small supportibg role ib this episode but still im like GIVE ME MORE OF MY BOYYY

Predictably, Clodzilla keeps messing up his takes. Although this time its cos he tries too hard to avoid failing that he ends up being the worlds most polite dinosaur with zero intimidation factor

But Directator loves it all! He was such a good choice to cheer up a failing actor, his sense of cinematography is so completely bonkers that its no wonder he instantly became Clodzilla's biggest fan!
