“As if you were on fire from within. The moon lives in the lining of your skin.” ― Pablo Neruda
1 hour material study. I have so many rocks and crystals (and that copper ball) and I decided that a good way to practice shading, colouring, and making realistic materials would be to draw some of them. The clear crystal is definitely the one I like best.

Edwardian Woman with Orange Fruit
A portrait of a young salmon-haired Edwardian woman with an orange fruit on the top of her head, styled like Brooke DiDonato. The image features direct light to her face, with light orange and light amber tones, pop inspiration, naturalistic charm, and eccentric detail placements.

A Guide To Shooting In Natural Light
A Guide On Using The Sun As A Light Source:
The first and most important thing, is that you must always be aware of your own postition in relation to the sun, because it's the only thing you can actually control.
You won't ever be able to control how hot the sun is, or when it goes behind clouds but you'll always be able to control you're own positioning.
To understand the reason for this, you must understand the difference between diffused and direct light.
Adjustment layers in Photoshop
I have been working in Photoshop for many years. However, it was only this week when I found out one tremendous tool to work with paintings, illustration and any images. It's adjustment layers.
To use the adjustment layers, we need to press the half black half white circle icon at the bottom of the layer's window. Choose which adjustment you want to add and make changes. Once the layer was created, it influences everything below it. Here are some advantages that I found in the approach:
We can change the values of the layer when we want or just change the opacity of the adjustment layer.
These layers include a mask, and it is the most useful thing: everything we paint white will have 100% opacity and everything we paint black - 0% opacity.
I found this method extremely powerful for image-making: to create a nice contrast between the light and the shadow, to simplify values when I need to, to preserve image from being grey.
