THE SPEED PAINT this drawing was a battle all the way through but I feel like I learned sooooo much, especially color theory, but man was it a fight. You can really see when I start getting frustrated in the drawing and just start doing whatever the fuck ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ but I've always wanted a drawing of Sivinski that looked glowing and beautiful and radiant and I think I finally achieved something enough to satisfy me for now. I'm so proud of this drawing. It also taught me a lot about contrast and color and how to use the tone curve.
I re did her hair like, 4 different times. The original concept sketch looked like this
It was more iridescent looking, which I would love to do one day. But when I tried rendering it her hair ended up muddy and really bad looking so I pivoted to a more gold color, but I'm glad I did, the gold turned out sooooo beautiful. I'm still not sure how I achieved the final result. It's the result of 100 tiny tweaks instead of just one solid drawing technique. I really hope I can replicate it again 😠but anyway I hope you like my drawing because it's one of my favorites now 🥹🫶
I thought this was a good one to post the timelapse with. Learn from my mistakes, I don't flip the canvas nearly as much as I should, if I had any advice for other artists it would be to flip the canvas every few minutes. Also I drew the back wall last for some reason. that was dumb lol.
