The driving theory test is now more complicated than ever, but there are several apps that promise to make it easier to pass. Let’s check it out. 

Theory Test UK 2015 

Price: £1.99

Smooth, slick and quick to respond. OK, it's a no-frills app, but it works perfectly. Graph of progress is a nice feature, as is the "explain" button, which gives more details to help you better understand the answers.

AA Theory Test (Abel Learning)

Price: £1.99

Many of the images and some of the text are far too small to see and use easily. The answer buttons are thin and fiddly to press, too, and the fancy animations can cause lag.

Driving Theory Test (Deep River Developments)

Price: £1.49

Quick and simple to use. Some graphics a bit low quality, but still legible. Coach mode gives explanations for the right answers, which promotes better understanding.

iTheory UK 

Price: £1.49

A pleasure to use, with a super-slick interface, superb graphics and lots of useful extras. But it's been translated, and in some places German words and phrases are still used. Strange, but true.
