Timothy Leary in his later years advocated the use of designing interactive software for understanding our internal experiences. Today, I stumbled upon this G-force visualization of Pink Floyd’s “Echoes” while surfing on the Internet. Although, I have experimented with programming visualizations some years back, the sheer serendipity of the experience made it more effective in terms of engaging my attention. It stimulated all aspects of my perception— the visual and auditory fields became more intense and sharp. There was a definite change in my physiology that I experienced in my muscles, skin, nerves and pupils. After the visualization finished, I felt relaxed and fresh, as if I had gone through some sort of meditative experience.
