If Jac ignored the hammering in her chest, It felt like home again. If she pretended something about it wasnât echoing and terrifying, she was safe here, below Dylan, on the bend, the other womanâs rough push after a night of gentle smiles and warm dinner conversation with the people Dylan surrounded herself with. Jac could ease into that comfort if she wasnât thinking about what was missing. She didnât know if she was supposed to think about it. Was it wrong to hold Dylan accountable for things she didnât remember? Was it wrong to want them tangled together now without the history that was usually there? But before Jac could spend any time going over the morality of the moment, Dylan was back off her, nearly out of the room by the time Jac had sprung back from the bed. Smoothing her shirt, Jac followed Dylan to the kitchen, calling after her. âDyl,â she tried to keep her voice low, âDylan ... you didnât ruin anything. Talk to me. Stop. What just happened? Weâre in this together. We do this together. We donât run.â

If she was honest with herself (which she rarely ever was), Alex would say that she was getting tired of Root pulling these stunts. Disappearing for months on end, only to show up with a half-baked, generally unsatisfactory excuse as to where sheâd been. And yet, when she received a message that Root needed her in Gotham, Alex still asked Kara to fly her there because it would be faster than taking a commercial flight.Â
It was the first time she actually met Root in Gotham, as they usually met in National City, or in random hotels nearby. She wasnât quite sure what to expect when she walked into the brownstone apartment, but a turquoise shag carpet and bare walls certainly wasnât it. âRoot?â Her voice seemed to echo in the barren apartment. As everything else in Gotham, there was a perpetual gloom hanging over the room, and Alex couldnât help but keep her hand on her sidearm as she edged further into the apartment. The message sheâd received was vague, as the Machine was wont to do, and she wasnât exactly sure what she was walking into.Â
Turning the corner, Alex let go of her gun and strode across the room in three steps, her instincts kicking in as she saw Root sprawled out on the couch. There was a bandage taped to the back of her right ear, and she looked like a wreck. âRoot,â she said, more insistently. Her fingers fluttered over her the hackerâs pulse, thready and weak but there. âWhat the fuck happened to you?â

@apocalyptiicboy - Salem has been my absolute favorite in regards to the OCâs, worlds & stories they create ( among other things omg ). They are all SO unique & so, so very real & imo, they absolutely deserve to become canon characters some day.@digimmortality - Liz, of course & Iâm excited to write with the OC that we have established some things with so far ( & if u ever wanna Discuss things more, i am 500% down tbh ), Iâd also like to write with more of their OCâs some day, eventually. <3@iiidiosyncrasies -  both of us are Heckin Stressed & busy / drained so Iâve only written with one of your OCâs ( we should write more with them some time, when youâre feeling up to it !! ), but yours always seem SO interesting <3@anurbanlcgend / @mockeryofreason -  Jasonâs OCâs & the moreso side-characters that he builds upon are ALWAYS amazing & unique. For the side-characters, what he creates for them works so well & weâre able to open up to a billion possibilities & wow i love ???@stvrvcined - I will always & forever adore all of your OCâs & the immense amount of work you put into them. Although Iâve only written with a small few, I love them with all of my heart & i hope we can write more things together. Also, a reminder that Muninn will always be one person that Loki loves so much ok.
