Polygamy affects many lives in places like Africa and Asia which are mainly dominated by the Muslim religion.
Polygamy in most North American countries is viewed as immoral, yet in Africa and Asia polygamy is viewed as moral and legal. Why is polygamy moral in some countries in the world, but in others it is immoral? Is there a way for polygamy to be right and wrong at the same time? Is polygamy considered right or wrong, how can we be sure when there are so many arguments that could tip the scale?
Morality stems from different cultures, religions, laws, and ideologies. Since polygamy is viewed differently from multiple religions and cultures, there’s bound to be some disagreements. Polygamy can be right and wrong depending on which point of view it is being looked upon, for example under the view of Christianity polygamy is wrong because marriage between you and someone else, but under the view countries in Africa polygamy is viewed as something that can provide many benefits i.e. more children.
Knowing if polygamy is right or wrong depends on your own personal opinion which will be affected by your religion, culture, etc. I believe that polygamy is wrong because marriage is something sacred that is shared between two people.
