Finished listening to DIES THE FIRE by S. M. Stirling last night with minutes to spare before the library took it back for the next person on hold for it. . It’s a 22 hour long audiobook and the first, of at least fourteen, in the Emberverse series. I’m now on hold for the second one which is equally as long. . The story is post apocalyptic, set in 1998 northwest America. For some, as of yet, unknown reason, anything and everything electronic stops working at the same instant. Planes fall from the sky, cars stop where they are, non-analog watches die. Even gunpowder no longer works. . This book follows two main people, each having people that rely on them. They are both good, honest people as are their newly formed clans. They help where they can, and kick ass where they must. . Gives you some great insight on what sort of things have real value if all electronics and gun power were to just go away. . 5 stars! Can’t wait for the next one. @goodreads @bridgeportlibrarywv #wvdeli #audiobook #diesthefire #emberverse #smstirling #audiobookstagram #reading #bookstagram #postapocalyptic https://www.instagram.com/p/CC8rB9KDec-/?igshid=skb0kjxqsrt4
