I imagine Diedrich had to go through something similar. Like, yes, most people saw Vincent as a respectable noble, and they would have been horrified. But others knew Vincent was up to some shady stuff.

Even Randall, who benefits from the Phantomhives, hates Ciel. And Randall might not know everything, but he has to know Ciel's whole family was murdered and Ciel was kidnapped. If he can't find an ounce of compassion for a traumatized kid, how do you think he felt about Vincent?

Diedrich: I felt it the moment I laid eyes on you.

Vincent: My pulse is rushing.

Diedrich: My head is reeling.

Vincent: My face is flushing.

Both: What is this feeling? Fervid as a flame, does it have a name? Yes!

Diedrich: Loathing! Unadulterated loathing!

Vincent: (at the same time) Love!

Diedrich: Wait! What!?!?

Vincent: It must be love!

And my headcanon is that this student is insanely angry and jealous of Diedrich.

Student: It should have been me! I'm the one in his house!

For Diedrich, it's much harder to pinpoint why he loves Vincent. The only answer he can come up with is that he just does. Yes, Vincent's beautiful, but Diedrich could resist that. Diedrich dislikes Vincent's selfishness and greed. He can objectively admire Vincent's intelligence and cunning, but he despises how Vincent uses those traits. He pities that Vincent was thrown into the Watch Dog role, but many of the most evil people had horrible upbringings and deserve pity. But he doesn't believe they deserve mercy.

While Diedrich has his arms crossed, Vincent has one hand in his pocket. The other is out of sight, but we can deduce it's placement by the white rectangle beneath Diedrich's right elbow.

It's clearly a cuff of a sleeve.

Now, given the angle of Diedrich's left arm, ths hand on his right upper arm has to be Diedrich's. Also, Vincent would almost need to have extra joints to bend his hand up at that angle.
